First-look photos have been released for Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet starring Tom Holland and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers.

Romeo & Juliet is now in previews at the Duke of York’s Theatre, and is playing to 3 August 2024.

Hollywood star Tom Holland (Spider-Man) plays Romeo in the production, alongside Francesca Amewudah-Rivers (Bad Education, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) as Juliet, Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Sense8, God of Carnage) as Nurse, Michael Balogun (Sherwood, The Lehman Trilogy) as Friar, Tomiwa Edun (Macbeth, The Deep Blue Sea) as Capulet, Mia Jerome (Treasure Island) as Montague, Daniel Quinn-Toye as Paris, Ray Sesay (Doctor Who, Anna Karenina) as Tybalt, Nima Taleghani (Cyrano de Bergerac, Hope Has A Happy Meal) as Benvolio, Joshua-Alexander Williams as Mercutio, and Callum Heinrich (Mamma Mia!) and Kody Mortimer (Sunset Boulevard) as Camera Operators.

Romeo & Juliet was originally scheduled to begin previews last Saturday, 11 May 2024, but this was cancelled whilst the production team continued to work on the show. The first preview is tonight, 13 May 2024.

Romeo & Juliet is playing at the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre until 3 August 2024.
