Only Murders in the Building has unveiled its season four release date and a first-look trailer.

The clip, released on Wednesday (May 14), confirms the show will return on Tuesday, August 27, on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.

The teaser footage introduces new cast members Molly Shannon, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria and Melissa McCarthy, as well as the returning Meryl Streep and Da'Vine Joy Randolph for what the show is calling "the starriest season" yet.

This time, Charles, Oliver and Mabel head to Los Angeles to turn their hit podcast into a big-budget movie. Of course, trouble follows…

"What we need is a hot, fresh dead body, preferably right here or very near to here," Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) explains in the clip.

Fortunately — or, perhaps, unfortunately — the universe has an answer for Oliver's prayer when Charles-Haden Savage's stunt double, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), is shot dead in cold blood.

At the same time, Molly Shannon's new Hollywood executive character is planning a feature film based on the trio's story — though negotiations may hit a snag if the trailer is anything to go by.

The incredibly star-studded and Primetime Emmy Award-nominated true crime comedy series is adding even more notable faces in season four — including Marvel's Kumail Nanjiani, The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis and comedian Catherine Cohen.

The show resumed filming in March, with Selena Gomez sharing that her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin sent her roses with a sweet note, reading: "We're so happy to be back with you."
