Admittedly, I haven’t seen this film since the late 1980s. Loved it as a teen, but I never watched it as an adult. I figured it wouldn’t be as good as I remembered. The special effects would suck and it would just feel outdated. Man, was I wrong. The gore gags are great. The pacing is perfect. Never drags. Enjoyed every one of the 82 minutes. Heard good things about the remake, so I’m looking forward to that. The original, however, is a fun-filled slice of ‘80s cinema that I’m so glad I revisited. On Shudder.

I didn't get to "Toxic Avenger" until I was an adult. Once I saw it, i was super mad at myself for not seeing it as a child in the '80s. It's a good ass movie! I think you may have just inspired me to see it again!

Macon Blair directed so I’d assume it wouldn’t be awful. His directorial debut was easily one of the best of 2017. I’ve high hopes.
