Would it make sense to enter the park front the Front Royal, explore that part of it for a few hours, do a hike , overlooks, then drive to Luray caverns, then spend the 1st night either in the Luray or Skyland. Then, the following day drive further to the other side towards Harrisonburg or Staunton, spend the night or 2 there and focus on that side of the park. We were thinking of driving to Williamsburg for the 3rd night, but now I am reconsidering it and thinking of spending all 3 nights around Shenandoah. I will be honest, my reasoning behind switching to Harrisonburg is the abundance of hotels with breakfast and local eateries (more choices than Luray) and it’s much more convenient with kids. I am not planning to cook our meals on this trip. I appreciate everyone’s advise
