Coronation Street star Colson Smith appears to have shared a bit of a set secret as he shared a fresh snap of himself on the cobbles portraying his character PC Craig Tinker to the support of a Gogglebox star.

The actor is famed for playing Craig, the son of Beth Sutherland and Darryl Parkins, in the ITV soap having joined when he was 12 years old in 2011. Throughout his time on the show, his storylines have included a battle with OCD and his journey to becoming a police officer.

And Craig's job as a police officer in Weatherfield often gets him the most comments from Corrie fans so Colson's latest social media was also quick to spark a response.

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old shared a snap of him in Craig's police gear, standing with a serious stance beside a police car on the famous cobbles.

Alongside the moody-looking snap, Colson wrote to his 204,000 followers: "PC Craig Tinker of Weatherfield Police Department." And among the first to respond was Gogglebox star and soap fan Izzi Warner.

The Leeds-based TV star said: "This lad never has a day off! He doesn’t rest! He’s first on the scene of every crime and knows the ins and outs of every ongoing investigation in Weatherfield! Absolute grafter!"

Meanwhile, another of Colson's followers commented: "A Corolla, Wethersfield need one if those lovely Peugeot 308s like West Yorkshire police ( and me) have," to which the Celebrity Big Brother 2023 finalist revealed: "It's because the actor can’t drive a manual."

@timrichardjones replied: "Love PC Tinker & does a better job than DS Swain & he pops U when U least expect him 2 do." @chris_yeboah_leeds posted: "Great character and great actor." @dazdpm73 quipped: "Between yourself and PC Swirling @ Emmerdale, you are both keeping this country safe…. Keep up the good work.." @haddieuk added: "Your character suits you well... Ever thought of joining the police service? You’d make a great policeman."
