Bremerton's Ja'Leiyah Turner and Central Kitsap's Carson LeBeau are this week's Kitsap Sun athletes of the week, as selected by readers in an online poll between May 14-16. Athletes are nominated by their respective high school coaches.

Turner, who plays softball for the Knights, recorded eight RBI and eight putouts in the field last week, recording a game-sealing two RBI double in a win against Kingston. Other nominees for girls sports were Olympic softball player Hailey Feltis, North Kitsap softball player Hannah Richards, North Kitsap tennis player Teegan DeVries, South Kitsap softball player Kamdyn Hagerty and North Mason golfer Madi Morris.

LeBeau, who plays soccer for the Cougars, led the team to a district title as goalkeeper, making a pair of saves across two shootout victories. Other nominees for boys sports were South Kitsap golfer Connor Fentress and Klahowya track and field athlete Deacon Wintch.

May 7-9: Allison Dvorak, North Kitsap softball, batted .565 with a .636 on-base percentage, four doubles, her first career home run, eight RBI, three runs and two walks, and Carson Langguth, Klahowya baseball, Langguth, batted .455 with a .500 on-base percentage, while earning a win and a save with 10 strikeouts pitching.

April 30-May 2: Reese Anderson, North Kitsap softball, earned a complete-game win over Kingston, giving up one earned run and striking out seven. She also batted .500 with two RBI for the week, and Nicholas Strickland, Central Kitsap boys soccer, scored two goals, including the game-winner against Timberline, to help Central Kitsap secure the South Sound Conference 3A title.

April 23-25Joey Castillo, Kingston softball, batted .625 with a .700 OBP and four RBI in the team's victories over Bremerton and North Mason, and Leland Lopes, North Mason baseball, pitched a one-hit, 13-strikeout victory against Cascade while going 4-for-4 with a two-run home run and a grand slam.

April 15-17: Audrey Rienstra, Kingston softball, pitched six innings while giving up two runs and striking out nine in the Buccaneers' loss to No. 1 Port Angeles, and JJ Martinson, Central Kitsap baseball, threw 6 2/3 innings in a 5-0 win against River Ridge, with 13 strikeouts and three hits allowed.

April 1-3: Madi AaensonSouth Kitsap softball, went 5-for-5 with three runs and four RBI in the Wolves' softball wins over Puyallup and Rogers, and Joshua VoceCentral Kitsap soccer, who scored three goals and four assists in wins over River Ridge, Timberline and Capital.

March 25-27: Nevaeh Sullivan, Kingston softball, helped the team go 2-1 by collecting three extra-base hits, including a home run, and eight RBI, and Jeremiah Swain, Olympic boys soccer, Swain, helped the team go 3-0 with two shutouts and 14 aerial battles won.

March 18-20Ava Day, Central Kitsap softball, went 4-for-4 with a walk, triple, two home runs, three RBI and five runs in Central Kitsap's 15-10 win over Bainbridge, and Keegan Bailey, Central Kitsap boys soccer, scored two goals in Central Kitsap's season-opening 3-1 win against Peninsula.
