Netflix is filming a new series based on a Judy Blume book on Martha's Vineyard this week

Martha's Vineyard is ready for its close up.

Filming for a Netflix series will occur at several places on Martha's Vineyard this week, according to Oak Bluffs' town website.

A document posted to the Oak Bluffs' website said that Netflix would be in town filming during the week, with a caution about possible traffic delays.

Oak Bluffs did not specify what movie or show was being filmed in the town, an April article published by the Vineyard Gazette says that Netflix is filming an adaptation of Judy Blume’s book “Forever...” The USA Today Network has reached out to Netflix for confirmation.

The Netflix show will be an eight-part series, with one episode shot on the Vineyard, according to the news outlet.

Where is Netflix filming on Martha's Vineyard

Here are the filming dates, times and locations:

  • Wednesday, May 15 — Filming in the Niantic Park area from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 16 — Filming in the East Chop area from 7 a.m. to midnight.
  • Friday, May 17 — Filming around the Circuit Avenue area from noon until 1 a.m.

Filming locations include Niantic Park, Back Door Donuts, the Flying Horses, Squibnocket Beach, the steamship terminal and the Aquinnah Circle as well as others, according to the Vineyard Gazette.

Vineyard Haven jewelry store CB Stark Jewelers posted a video with the title "Lights, Camera, Action" to Instagram, showing a camera crew on a moving rig following a green car.

The caption reads, “Excitement on Main Street while Netflix is filming the new Judy Blume film!”
