George Lowell LaMere OBITUARY

LAMERE, GEORGE LOWELL, born March 22, 1922, passed away peacefully in the arms of his family on September 20, 2012. He follows his mother Dorothy, his father George and wife of 61 years Marjorie. He was raised in Los Angeles and joined the US Navy shortly after high school. He served 30 years rising to the rank of Lt. Cmdr. He became an enlisted man naval aviator during WW II. He attended college, earned his wings and officer rank. He served all over the world including Hawaii, Italy and US bases. He was active in the Silver Eagles Association. His chief accomplishment was marrying his “sweetie” Marge in 1946. They had three children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, always rising to the occasion on family visits. The family always loved his meal preparations at visits. “Who wants to go out to dinner when Grandpa cooks.” Daddy is survived by Richard Guy LaMere M.D. wife Susan, of Park City Utah, Michael Allen LaMere wife Susan of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Denise Colette (LaMere) Nichols, Winter Park, FL. Also four grandchildren, Nicole (husband, Scott), Andre (wife, Melanie), Ryan and Lauren; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Sam, Katie, Josie and namesake Georgia. “May you soar like an Eagle.” Interment will be at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, Nov. 3, 2012 at noon.
