The latest episode of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' welcomed the luminaries of Netflix's latest hit drama, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', for a delightful rendezvous filled with laughter and insight. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Richa Chadha, joined Kapil Sharma in a jovial atmosphere that was kicked off with a round of pani puri.

The banter commenced with Kapil playfully refusing to serve anyone who addressed him as "bhaiya," much to Sonakshi's disappointment. Amidst the munching and giggles, the conversation naturally gravitated towards 'Heeramandi', the historical drama that has been making waves since its premiere on May 1. The ensemble cast shared anecdotes about their experiences stepping back into the 1940s to portray the world of tawaifs and nawabs, and the meticulous attention to detail by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Despite Bhansali's absence, his influence loomed large over the discussion, with the cast praising his dedication to perfection. An impromptu homage to another Bhansali classic, Devdas (2002), ensued, as Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda hilariously transformed into iconic characters, much to the amusement of the 'Heeramandi' stars.

Each leading lady shared insights into Bhansali's directorial prowess and the challenges they faced on set. From Richa Chadha's arduous 99 takes for a song sequence to Sonakshi Sinha's spontaneous choreography changes, the cast revealed the dedication required to bring Bhansali's vision to life.

Sharmin Segal, who happens to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece, candidly shared her audition journey for the role of Alamzeb, the budding poetess in 'Heeramandi'. She revealed that she underwent 16 auditions before landing the part, showcasing the rigorous selection process employed by Bhansali to ensure the perfect fit for each character.

Kapil playfully teased Manisha Koirala about her longstanding association with Bhansali, referring to her as his good luck charm. Koirala, who had previously worked with Bhansali in his feature directorial debut, 'Khamoshi', laughed off the notion but acknowledged the special bond she shares with the acclaimed filmmaker.

In a bid to stir up some behind-the-scenes gossip, Sharma attempted to uncover any disagreements or conflicts on set. However, the women of 'Heeramandi' quickly quashed his efforts and emphasised the harmonious atmosphere during production. Aditi Rao Hydari, in particular, asserted that the script itself was brimming with drama, suggesting that any potential conflicts among the cast paled in comparison to the intricacies of the narrative.

Despite the challenge of accommodating six guests, the episode was filled with memorable moments, from Kapil teasing Sinha about her marriage plans to speculating about Chadha's future family with actor Ali Fazal.
