Flesh and Blood: Getting Ready For Sealed Events (Part The Mistveil)

Sealed events are a fun and exciting way to level the playing field for trading cards games. At Wandering Adventures we want to explore some of the elements of sealed events for our upcoming Pre-Release for Flesh and Blood's upcoming release, Part The Mistveil.

Taking part in a sealed pre-release event is a great way to engage with a new set. Whether or not you want to commit to a hero in the set, it is a good way to see how cards will be played, new mechanics, new heroes, and overall enjoying the expansion without diving too deep.

What is a sealed event?

From fabtcg.com:

Are you looking for an easy and fun way to experience Flesh and Blood while building up your collection? Look no further than the Sealed Deck format! Open six booster packs, build your deck from the cards you receive, and let the fun begin. With no outside cards allowed, every game is a fresh and unique challenge that will test your skills and creativity. Plus, Sealed Deck is a great way to add new cards to your collection while having a blast with friends. Come and join the fun!

Sealed events challenge players to create decks on the spot, and use them in a quick tourney setting. While this may sound like a lot of pressure, don't worry because they are meant to be casual and fun, with social interaction and camaraderie among players. Whether it's discussing card choices, sharing strategies, or simply enjoying the thrill of competition, sealed events can foster a sense of community among participants.

Sealed events introduce variety by allowing players to experience different cards and strategies than they might encounter in constructed formats. Since players are working with random card pools, each sealed event offers a fresh and unpredictable experience.

Here are fabtcg.com's tips for Sealed Events:

  • -You don't need to bring your own cards or deck to play sealed deck. Just turn up and play!
  • -You'll get 6 booster packs to crack open and make a 30 card minimum deck from. --You keep these cards.
  • -You'll have 30 minutes to make a deck. If you're struggling, simply choose your favorite hero, play every card of that hero's class, and top up to 30 cards with generics you like the look of. Easy, done!
  • -Don't worry if you don't open the hero or weapon cards you want to play with. You get to add these to your deck from a public token station provided by the tournament organiser.
  • -Young hero cards are used for sealed deck games.
  • -Your hero dictates what cards you can play with. Cards in your deck must be the same class as your hero or be generic cards.
  • -Official sealed deck matches are 30 minutes, best of 1.
  • -Have a way to keep track of your life total, such as pen and paper.
  • -Deck boxes, sleeves and play mats are commonly used to protect your cards, but are not required.
  • -Store judges/staff are there to help, so if you have questions about rules or the event itself, make sure to ask them. This includes during a game.
