RICHARD GESTON Obituary

Richard J. Geston, 87, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024.
Richard was born in Natrona, Pennsylvania and moved to Tampa, Florida, from Cleveland, Georgia in 2021. He was a military service member and served in the United States Army. Richard was also a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida.
Richard was known to be a kind and tenderhearted person who always looked out for the best in others. He was a self-employed businessman in Helen, Georgia, before his retirement and move to Florida. Before that, he was actively involved in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Cleveland, where he served as a Eucharist Minister and Reader. He was also an Acolyte for many years and a St. Vincent de Paul worker.
Richard cherished the time he spent with his family and especially loved the moments spent with his grandsons, Jaret and Zachary. He looked forward to family vacations with his loving wife, Joanna, son, Eric, and grandsons. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with his friends and family. Richard's dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard is preceded in death by Marion Geston and Marie Geston Vincik. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna Geston, his son, Eric Christopher Geston, his brother, Daniel, his sisters, Rita (Mrs. Robert) Durdak and Marci (Mrs. Robert) Wiese, and his grandsons, Jaret C. and Zachary J.

Richard Heston, I've known Richard for many years. We were Altar Servers together at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. I worked with him in setting up shop in Helen , Georgia. A good man, a loving husband, and a devoted grandfather. Our prayers go out to Joanna his wife and his son, along with his children. God Bless him.
