Hilton Honors has a little known feature called ‘Tickets with Points’.

We’ve only mentioned it once since it launched so I thought it was worth a reminder.

‘Tickets with Points’ allows you to use your Hilton Honors points to purchase tickets to sporting events, concerts, comedy shows and theatre productions from Ticketmaster.

Pay at Ticketmaster with your Hilton Honors hotel points

You don’t need to have enough Hilton points to pay for your entire ticket. You can use as few as 5 Hilton Honors points which makes this a good way of using up a small Hilton balance if you have one.

The big question, of course, is what value do you get? The answer is ‘not great’. 500 Hilton Honors points gets you $1 equivalent off your purchase so 0.2 cents per point.

This compares very badly with our valuation of Hilton Honors points of 0.33p (0.4c) per point. You should also be able to beat our valuation if you’re smart or selective about when you redeem.

Unfortunately the deal does not work in reverse. There is no way of earning Hilton Honors points when purchase event tickets from Ticketmaster, which I think is a missed opportunity.

If you’re interested, you can get started by linking your Hilton and ticketmaster.co.uk accounts here.

PS. The image above is of Raye playing at the most recent Hilton ‘Secret Socials’ concert at Hilton Park Lane. These concerts allow you to redeem Hilton Honors points for an exclusive private gig – with the catch being that you won’t know in advance who is playing. We always let you know about upcoming ticket drops on HfP.

Ticketmaster, and ticketing companies in general, scum of the earth.

Currently having a ‘beef’ with Ticketmaster, have done a charge back with Amex. Bought some tickets to the Chicago Cubs which I never received (travelling from the UK btw), so family was left sitting in a hotel in Chicago instead of at the game. I won’t bore with the details but Ticketmaster not at all interested in resolving the matter.

Total panic last months as my bought and paid for Knicks tickets didn’t show in my account, as I’d downloaded the app in the UK. Tried to download it in the US: “you can’t – you already have an account”.
COULD see them on my laptop – so ended up having to take it to MSG!

Just fwiw don’t accept / read and form of PDFs at NBA stadiums! (says this multiple times on Ticketmaster tickets)

I bought from Ticketmaster months ago for an O2 show in early June and they emailed the tickets with barcodes. Apparently we can only gain admission via tickets in the linked O2 app but they haven’t appeared there yet. Do they appear just before the event or should they have appeared?

    • Tilly says:

I would have expected them to have appeared by now in the O2 app. I find the O2 app really glitchy. Took several attempts to log in under the purchased tickets from another website bit to access my tickets for a concert last month. Then each time I opened it I had to try to log in several times again before they’d show. Thankfully it worked fine for me on the night, I worried I’d end up not getting in because of a glitchy app.
