Vittatoe was found with crack cocaine and cash in his backpack, while Adam St. Cyr, 39, of Hyannis, was arrested for possession of cocaine and fentanyl. Yarmouth Police Surveillance Leads to Drug-Related Arrests in West Yarmouth

A routine surveillance operation by the Yarmouth Police Department led to the arrest of two men on drug-related charges in the quiet town of West Yarmouth, located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

Monitoring Activity on Reindeer Lane

On a Monday afternoon, detectives from the Yarmouth Police Department, in collaboration with the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit, were carefully monitoring activity around a residence on Reindeer Lane. The picturesque neighborhood, lined with quaint New England homes, became the scene of a drug-related investigation.

Suspect identified as Joseph Vittatoe

During the surveillance operation, 38-year-old Joseph Vittatoe of West Yarmouth was observed engaging in behavior that raised suspicions of drug transactions. Vittatoe was seen meeting with various individuals for brief periods, entering and exiting the residence multiple times, raising red flags for law enforcement.

Arrest of Vittatoe and St. Cyr

As the surveillance continued, a white sedan pulled up to the residence, and Vittatoe, carrying a black backpack, got into the vehicle along with another man, later identified as 39-year-old Adam St. Cyr of Hyannis. The sedan was stopped on Route 28, where officers discovered crack cocaine inside Vittatoe’s backpack and a substantial amount of cash.

St. Cyr, who was found to have an outstanding warrant, was also found in possession of additional cocaine and fentanyl hidden in his wallet. Both men were swiftly taken into custody by law enforcement.

Medical Emergency for Vittatoe

During the booking process, Vittatoe began displaying symptoms of an overdose and admitted to ingesting fentanyl pills. Immediate medical attention was provided by Yarmouth Fire/Rescue, and Vittatoe was promptly transported to a local hospital for further treatment and observation.

Charges Faced by Vittatoe and St. Cyr

Vittatoe is currently facing charges of conspiracy to violate drug laws, distribution of a Class B substance, and a subsequent offense of possession of a Class B substance. On the other hand, St. Cyr has been charged with possession of a Class A substance, possession of a Class B substance, and the outstanding warrant that led to his arrest.
