In tonight’s The Equalizer episode, a bunch of prisoners broke out of police custody. They had help from the outside world. The man behind the entire escape was Randall Grayle and it was his people that broke out the prisoners. They were after one person in particular. They wanted Leon Katz.

Katz was in prison for tax evasion. His former profession was a designer. He used to design super vaults for the ultra wealthy. This also meant that he knew how to break into them and that’s what Grayle wanted. Grayle was pulling off a big heist. He got himself a new crew. The last one was either killed or arrested. And Grayle didn’t care enough about his people to let that stop him.

Robyn McCall was alerted that Grayle was back in town. She had the CIA keeping tabs on him. Fisk told her that he was back and he was planning a big score. She then told Detective Dante. Dante had a chance to arrest Grayle. He let Grayle get away a few months ago to save Mel’s life.

Mel would have died if he hadn’t gone back for her. Dante doesn’t regret saving her life, but for a while he was angry at Robyn. She was supposed to be backup that day. She never showed and Dante blamed her for Grayle getting away. Grayle killed a buddy of his. He wanted justice for his friend.

Grayle killed Officer Jack Lowry. The officer’s family heard that Grayle was back in town. They contacted Dante and they pleaded with him to get Grayle. They wanted Grayle locked behind bars. They wanted justice for Jack. Dante wanted the same thing. He planned on assisting his friends in finding Grayle and that’s how Captain Watkins found out he was looking for Grayle.

She recognized Jack’s family when they stopped by the station. She knew that Dante was looking for Grayle. And she directly gave him orders not to.

The captain thought the detective was too close to the case to be objective. She put another detective in charge of looking for Grayle. She also forced Dante to work an extortion case with her.

She wanted to keep an eye on him. She was going to be looking over his shoulder and so he had to inform his friends that he couldn’t help them look for Grayle. They had to pursue Grayle on their own. Harry looked into known accomplices of Grayle. They found Damian Ellis. He was in Grayle’s crew. His girlfriend was Kassidy Forrester and she lived in the city.

Unfortunately, Robyn and Mel didn’t get to Kassidy in time. She got arrested. They found drugs in her apartment that belonged to Damien and so Dante tried to make a deal with her.

He secretly questioned her for information on the heist in return for a plea deal. Kassidy told Dante the time of the heist. He then passed the information onto Robyn. His captain found out he had spoken to Kassidy. She made sure to assign him desk duty the same time that the heist was reportedly happening.

Captain Watkins warned him that going near the Grayle case would result in him getting fired. Dante didn’t care about that. He didn’t want to let Grayle get away again.

He was willing to risk his job if it meant he captured Grayle. Robyn heard all about it and she realized she had to save him from himself. Grayle was a dangerous man. He killed Katz after he got the information he needed. Katz had apparently designed a custom vault for billionaire art collector, Huxton Pope. The same man also just bought Queen Victoria’s necklace that was worth hundreds of millions.

Grayle wanted that necklace. He set up a time for a heist. Robyn didn’t want Dante showing up at that time and risking his career. She came up with a brazen plan of stealing the necklace first.

She stole the necklace with Mel’s help. They used Kassidy to contact Damien. They basically agreed to a drop off with Grayle. Dante didn’t like that plan. He hated that wasn’t included in decision making. He wasn’t sure he could trust Robyn’s instincts on this and so Robyn talked him around. She told him that she would be there when he met with Grayle.

They planned on overwhelming Grayle. Only they didn’t count on him using a drone to track them. Or that he would kidnap Helena Lowry and keep her prisoner during the diamond exchange.

Grayle said that if they made any move against him that his people would kill Lowry’s widow. Dante had no other choice than to do what Grayle wanted. Grayle pulled a gun on Dante. He demanded that Dante drive him to a helicopter. It was always Grayle’s plan to kill Dante and Helena before fleeing. Dante’s friends stopped that plan from happening.

Harry hacked Grayle’s drone. He put the video on a loop. This gave Mel time to get to Helena and save her. It also gave Robyn time to get to her motorcycle. Harry was tracking Dante.

Robyn was able to catch up to them. She stopped Grayle. Grayle had already shot Dante by that point only Dante was wearing a bulletproof vest. Everyone was fine. They were all glad that Grayle got arrested. Grayle was finally going to serve time. Harry wasn’t going to be around to see it. Fisk tapped him for a secret job for the CIA.

Fisk told Harry he couldn’t tell anyone. Harry broke that rule when he told his wife. Harry told Mel that he was taking this job out of the country. He didn’t know how long it was going to be or what he was doing.

He just knew he was needed. Mel was upset with him, but she was still worried. She didn’t want him getting hurt. She probably would have liked to gossip with him about Robyn finally kissing Detective Dante. The married couple was rooting for that relationship for months. And it finally happened when Harry left town.

Dee and Aunt Vi meanwhile booked a summer house on the beach to enjoy the break. They ran into a squatter. The squatter was a teenage girl. She only stayed there for a night because she got sick.

She thought she had an autoimmune disorder. Which didn’t make sense to Dee. Dee saw her medication bag. The medications were from different pharmacies. They also shouldn’t be used together. Dee asked her father the doctor and he said those prescriptions could be causing Moniqe to be ill.

Dee tried to warn Monique about it. Monique refused to believe the truth. She didn’t think her mother would hurt her. Not her mother that had sacrificed everything for her. So, she called her mom to pick her up and she went home with a woman that was intentionally making her ill. And Dee realized she couldn’t save everyone.

THE END!
