January 12, 2014: Robin Wright wins the Golden Globe

This year, Robin Wright made history because she became the first actress to win the Golden Globe Award for a streaming television series.

Wright won in the category of Best Leading Actress in a Series (Drama) for her role of Claire Underwood in ‘House of Cards’.

The Netflix show also got nominations for Best Drama Series, Kevin Spacey and Corey Stoll, but Robin Wright was the only win for ‘House of Cards’.

Wright was nominated alongside Julianna Margulies, Tatiana Maslany, Taylor Schilling & Kerry Washington.

This was Wright’s second Golden Globe nomination. She was previously nominated in 1995 for her role as Jenny in the film ‘Forrest Gump’.
