Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here. Recently I've been craving some drama that is about empresses. I want to watch a drama focusing on how a servant girl climb up the ranks to become the empress (like empress ki kdrama) with romance between the emperor and empress. I don't mind if there's no romance, but I want some good political intrigue and harem drama (like fights between consorts).
Anything else involving palace drama is fine too. Thanks in advance!

Yanxi Palace. Legend of Fu Yao. Perhaps the Legend of Hao Lan.
The Story of Minglan if you haven't watched it already. FL is not a servant but a low rank concubine's daughter.
Does it have a sad ending?
Minglan has one of the best endings to any cdrama, but it is on a knife edge until the last moment.
I will sacrifice my peace if it has a good plot
80+ episodes, but Minglan is the most unique FL in cdrama. She is at the very bottom of her social class, an unloved daughter of a dead concubine with an indifferent father.
But she has a fierce intelligence and a burning sense of injustice. Treat her well and she will be your most loyal friend, but involve her, her family or friends in your schemes and she will use your flaws and greed to destroy you without you knowing what has happened.
I has a nice, well wrapped, not sad ending.
That’s good cuz what I hate the most is sad endings. I just can’t take it.

Story of Yanxi Palace is probably one of the best for this. Starts out as a servant in the Palace and works her way up.
Empresses in the Palace. Hands down one of the most rewatched imperial harem drama in Chinese internet.
Legend of Mi Yue is another good one.
Court Lady she doesn't become Empress but her merchant family experience a catastrophe and she enters the palace as an embroidery maid but gradually works her way up to be the most senior woman of the servants whilst having to fight off the attentions of powerful men and having a on/off relationship with the son of a general.
The best one is The Story of Yanxi Palace
New Life Begins FL is not a maidservant but a very unfavored lady and her ambition is to divorce and come back home. However this drama has the most pleasant harem structure I ’ve already seen. It is very funny, light-hearted and female oriented harem drama around.
I must say new life begins is really awesome. It's my favorite. But I think the person wants fights in the harem which we don't see in new life begins and I think that's why I love it the most.
