Late night food options

Hi, we land in Bordeaux (hopefully) on the 18 at 18.45. I have no idea how swiftly we will get our luggage/clear security/get the hire car will take. We need to grab some basic groceries (water milk etc) and get to the apartment- figure out parking, meet our air bnb host etc etc so am assuming it will be at least 10pm by now- we are staying on Rue D’Aviau near the par- does anyone have any suggestion of where we might grab some easy food this late and a glass of wine nearby - would you suggest booking or will we be able to just walk and find something- it’s a Saturday night so assume it will be busy thanks so much

As you are driving from the airport you will pass very close by the Carrefour hypermarket at the Mérignac Sol shopping centre, which closes at 2100. I recommend you stop by there.

Parking along Rue D'Aviau may not be easy - take a look at https://maps.app.goo.gl/Rjp7QTVQqKSroWbA7 and you will see why driving into and around Bordeaux is actively discouraged!

There are every few places to eat around there. The few I clicked on either close by 10pm or not open at all Saturday night! Have a prowl around this map - https://maps.app.goo.gl/PZpCDJYroAAmxC816 - you will need to zoom in for a better look at a particular area.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful, how far away from the main town are we, could we Uber there once we have dumped our bags and get late food easily perhaps? We thought hiring a car was good for getting out and about to the various vineyards during the day plus a day out to the sand dune etc,

You are about a 15 minute walk from the central area of the city. I fear Cubsur is right when he/she makes a concen about the car parking - does the Air b’n’b have a resident space? Cars, tourists and central Bordeaux is not the ideal combination. I understand the desire of a car for touring outside the city but I hope you have made advance arrangements with whatever Chateaux you wish to visit. There are very few who accept off the cuff visits. Btw we arrive 15 minutes before you next Saturday

Thank you so much, our Airbnb host has given us some parking information for nearby which we will check tomorrow, my brother went to Bordeaux last year and hired a car and made his own arrangements for the various vineyard visits which we will look at tomorrow- the organised ‘wine tours’ just don’t look like our thing really and I like the idea of just having the freedom to move around the area ourselves- hadn’t appreciated it would be so tricky really- maybe we need to re evaluate our plans a little
