NYT Poll Shows Trump Leading In Five Swing States; Trump Draws 100,000+ in Rally In Democratic New Jersey

I know a lot of you are bored by polls, but let me just do this slumpbuster to get started with the week.

Biden clings to a 1 point lead in Michiganistan.

I believe Trump's path to victory consists of winning NC, GA, and AZ, and then winning one of WI, PA, and MI.

So if the results in this poll were the real results of voting, Trump would win.

MXMNews:

Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in five crucial battleground states previously won by Biden, according to a comprehensive poll conducted by The New York Times, Siena College, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Surveys conducted across six states--Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin--involved 4,097 registered voters.

Both 18-to-29-year-olds and Hispanic voters, who predominantly supported Biden in 2020, now show divided loyalties, closely split between the two candidates.

Trump has garnered over 20 percent of the Black vote in these states, a level of support unseen for a Republican since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

...

Nevada: Trump leads with 51% to Biden's 38%, and in a three-way race, Trump has 44%, Biden 30%, RFK Jr 11%, and others 3%.

Arizona: Trump is ahead at 49% compared to Biden's 43%, and in another scenario, Trump at 44%, Biden 35%, RFK Jr 8%.

Pennsylvania: Trump has a 48% to 45% lead over Biden, and in a broader field, 41% for Trump, 37% for Biden, with RFK Jr at 9%.

Wisconsin: Trump holds a narrow lead of 47% to Biden's 46%, and in a more divided race, Trump leads with 40%, Biden has 39%, and RFK Jr 8%.

Georgia: Trump stands at 50% over Biden's 41%, and with additional candidates, Trump has 42%, Biden 34%, RFK Jr 8%.

Michigan: Biden maintains a slight advantage, leading 47% to Trump's 46%, and in a varied field, Biden with 42%, Trump 39%, RFK Jr 7%.

Trump drew a crowd of more than 100,000 in deep blue NJ.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy warned the Biden White House should be "concerned" ahead of November after Trump rallied as many as 100,000 supporters in New Jersey in what is being called the largest political rally in state history.

McCarthy joined "Sunday Morning Futures" to discuss his reaction to Trump's massive rally in Wildwood, New Jersey on Saturday and why he thinks the Garden State could be in play this election cycle.

"That was extraordinary," McCarthy told host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. "New Jersey [is] not a place that people think Republicans would ever compete, but the size of the crowd...could President Biden get that crowd in the heart of New York or in the most Democrat state? Could he do it in California? The answer is no."

"The other thing that we're hearing coming out of the White House itself is... President Biden needs to campaign less, talk less, because he gets in trouble while doing it," he continued. "This is President Trump showing no matter what they throw at him, he's going to fight back. He's going to lead this nation on the issues they care most about."

A Wildwood spokesperson told the Associated Press that between 80,000 and 100,000 people attended the rally, which was more than double what was expected. Trump confidently said he would win New Jersey in November as the crowd erupted.

Fact Check: True.

Trump, escalating attacks at rally, says Biden is 'surrounded by fascists'

He's still under threat of jailtime if he violates a gag order.

After spending the week sitting in silence as a parade of witnesses -- from porn star Stormy Daniels to a former White House aide -- testified in court, former President Donald Trump had to get a lot off his chest.

Speaking before tens of thousands of people in Wildwood, New Jersey, Trump called the hush money case a "sham." He mocked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as "Fat Alvin." He insulted the judge overseeing the case as "corrupt" and "highly conflicted." And according to Trump, President Joe Biden was to blame for it all.

"As you know, I've come here from New York, where I'm being forced to endure a Biden show trial -- all done by Biden," Trump said.

Trump's tirade came after a pivotal week in his New York criminal trial, where Daniels' eye-popping testimony resulted in an excruciating few days for the former president. And Monday is set to be another big day at the courthouse, when Trump's former fixer Michael Cohen is expected to take the stand.

But Trump on Saturday avoided mentioning the witnesses or jurors in the case, likely aware that any public attack would violate the gag order imposed by Justice Juan Merchan. While Merchan already held Trump in contempt for violating the order 10 times and fined him a total of $10,000, the judge also threatened Trump last week with jail time for future violations.

Surrounded by roller coasters and amusement park thrills along a boardwalk in Wildwood, the former president railed against the trial that has largely taken him off the campaign trail. This was only the third rally Trump has held since the case began almost one month ago.

But in recent events, Trump has been escalating his attacks on the justice system and Biden. During a private donor retreat last week in Palm Beach, Trump accused Biden of "running a Gestapo administration." And on Saturday, he said the president is "surrounded by fascists around the Oval Office."

This really does feel like 2020 again.

You know, when Trump won by such a margin that Democrats had to cheat by mail for months, which wasn't enough, before they shut down ballot counting in six states at the same time in the middle of the night to ballot box stuff like Tammany Hall to barely get Biden an electoral college victory.

But at the end of the day, Trump has to flip a few blue states. And its cold comfort thinking the idiot voters in places like PA, MI, or WI are going to save this country and go against their usual trend of electing Democrats.

It's especially delusional to expect all the muslim transplants in MI to go against the party that brought them to the US and will continue to bring more of their family members over all over their Israel hatred. It's also not like GOP is known for their strong stand with the Palestinians.

The ONLY reason we're not watching The Hag finish up her second horror term is because they never counted on Trump winning MI and WI.

PA is otherwise unavailable to Republicans, I have maintained this for years. Trump can only win by pulling out some dumb unexpected state full of leftards (again).

75 Barack Obama, while still president, tried to frame he and Bernie Sanders as actual populists vs. Donald Trump, who 'doesn't care about working people.'

But then, "If you watch Obama's speeches after that point, more and more recently, he uses the word "populist" interchangeably with "strong man," with "authoritarian." The word changes meaning, it becomes a negative, a pejorative, a slur."

"To me, populism is not a dirty word. Since the 2008 crash and specifically the trillion-dollar Wall Street bailout, we are in the populist age, and for good reason. The elites have failed," Marshall continued.

76 I tend to think polling "magically" gets accurate right before an election. With Republicans/Trump pushed down to form a narrative.

But if you look at RealClearPolitics, their last polling average was absolutely dead on for the final results of the 2020 election.

So if the usual trend happens, I could even see Trump moving up higher as the election draws near.

Again though, my fear is at the end of the day, he has to flip states.

As someone on the ground here in AZ, I actually think it stays with Biden. Mostly because the abortion debate opened up again with the stupid territorial law case and Kari Lake is most likely going to be the Senate nominee. There's a reason Trump tried to get her to exit the race. She's AZ's Sarah Palin.

In 2022, the PA Secretary of State illegally sent out 250,000 mail in ballots for no reason. It was outright against the law.

Nothing was ever done to undo it. The ballots were just out there to be cured. This was on top of Philly reporting 105% turnout.

Democrats just break election laws. The courts allow them to do it. That's the key to understand.

99 So, Biden's next foreign policy crisis may be upon us soon.

The BBC interviewed a Ukrainian commander on the Kharkov front.

A vast sum of money was allocated to build fortifications and minefields along the Russian - Ukrainian border near Kharkov, since that was an obvious target for a Russian attack, which is now underway.

The commander:

“There was no first line of defence. We saw it. The Russians just walked in. They just walked in, without any mined fields” he says.

He shows me video from a drone feed taken a few days ago of small columns of Russian troops simply walking across the border, unopposed.

He says officials had claimed that defences were being built at huge cost, but in his view, those defences simply weren’t there. “Either it was an act of negligence, or corruption. It wasn’t a failure. It was a betrayal”.

151 USA Today: Fewer Black Americans say they will vote in the 2024 election, new poll says. 62% of Black Americans said they were certain to vote in this year’s election compared to June 2020, where 74% of Black Americans said the same. The poll also found only 41% of Black Americans ages 18-39 were certain to vote, compared to 61% in June 2020. Biden won 92% of support from the demographic group four years ago. However, the poll found that 74% of Black Americans said they would definitely or probably vote for Biden this year.

Failure to vote for the Democratic Party will be to their own detriment. There is nothing about the GOP in the black communities interests. I suspect things could change before this coming November.

USA today polls are to stir up readership, not to provide facts. It's already wrong. Black voter turnout has been higher in the primaries. This is not a constuency that votes against itself to its own detriment.

The effort by Republicans to SUPPRESS their right to vote is having a negative effect. I cannot explain the apathy on the part of African-Americans. They are being told their vote "does not matter."

Trump can win, but it's not a lead pipe cinch, it's going to depend on a lot of factors, mainly ballot harvesting and who has a better apparatus that collects as much paper as possible and jams it into the tabulators.

Again, this is simply a data point, in the most recent PA Primary, The Meat Puppet managed to get just under 1M votes, Trump by contrast managed to get just under 800K votes.

You would think the enthusiasm for Trump would be higher than The Meat Puppets, seeing as the polls say Trump is ahead in PA, and yet, that's not what was demonstrated in the primary.

So, again, who the f**k knows how the general is going to turn out but based on the primary, The Donks simply want it more and a will turn out those ballots.

Because polling is about modeling, and modeling uses results from previous elections. Like, for instance, the elections where the AZ Secretary of State, effectively turned off signature verification on mail in ballots, like in 2022.

Despite being wrist-slapped by a federal court for doing that, the results still stand and they get fed into polling models to craft the results.

I mean...it's not the worst strategy, to try and include the fraud.

But in general, they have tended to underestimate Donald Trump's support, not overestimate it. I doubt that there are many shy Biden voters in the country."

After going through the usual Biden talking points about how wonderful the economy allegedly is, he admitted, "Biden is getting little credit for it."

"The shift here is stark," Zakaria pointed out. "On the question of whom voters trust more to deal with the economy, Trump has a 22-point lead over Biden, according to an NBC poll from January. This marks of a 15-point bump for Trump compared to the same poll in 2020."

In 2020, PA was ordered by SCOTUS to keep signed and unsigned mail in ballots separate for counting purposes.

PA didn't do it. They mixed them together.

TX brought a lawsuit against PA about this. SCOTUS refused to hear the case.

The courts will allow it all again.

During the first Trump Administration, I attended Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-in-law's house. She was an attorney. While we were waiting for the turkey to finish, she watched some CNN / MSNBC / I_DON'T_KNOW_WHAT on her computer and started sobbing when the nice black man said that Trump was a racist. She was horrified that we had elected a racist. Despite there being mountains of evidence that it isn't true.

That's why they tell those lies.

I'd submit that midterms don't have as much attention / turnout. And I do think abortion moved the needle some for the Dems in 2022. So IMHO they had a greater percent of the vote than they did in 2020, which coupled with a more modest cheat for the win. Just my take... But, if that's a correct take, the modest cheat won't be enough with all the attention in 2024. They need more than 2020. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but if it is, yeah, guess we should just talk about boobs if we're conceding we can't win anything nationally again...

239 The Michigan legislature, now controlled by Democrats for the first time in a long time, just passed a slew of measures designed to make mail in ballots more susceptible to fraud.

In Arizona, the Democrat elected AG has empaneled a grand jury stuffed with Democrats that is indicting anyone who even remotely questioned the election integrity or was associated with the legal process that allows putting forth an alternate slate of electors. That includes cowards like Jenna Ellis, who surrendered in Georgia and the Arizona AG had testify before the grand jury after promising she wouldn't be indicted.

This is far from over. There isn't a single legal, ethical, judicial or constitutional process the Democrats and their cult members, like this on the grand jury in Arizona, won't attempt to subvert to gain and keep power.

296 My own logic on this is Trump has never looked stronger in polling, ever. Including in 2016 when he won. So I should feel really good.

But at the end of the day, Trump has to flip a few blue states. And its cold comfort thinking the idiot voters in places like PA, MI, or WI are going to save this country and go against their usual trend of electing Democrats.

Posted by: Blago at May 13, 2024 12:29 PM

I looked up the polls leading up to the 2016 election for Michigan and the polling average was Clinton ahead of Trump 44.5% to 40.4% (5.8% Johnson). Clinton +4.1% advantage. Trump won the state 47.5% to 47.3% (5.2% Johnson).

https://bit.ly/3UHof7q

So 2016 polling was off by 4.3% regarding the difference between Clinton and Trump. Polling was off 2.8% for Clinton (47.3% vs 44.5%). Polling was off 7.1% (47.5% vs 40.4%) for Trump.

Michigan 2020 polls showed Biden 50.0% to Trump 45.8%. Election results were Biden 50.5% to Trump 47.9%. Off by 0.5% for Biden, by 2.1% for Trump. In both election years, Trump polling was well under Trump's election results.

I don't accept it any more than I accept gay marriage. But I accept that I lost because I did.

What conservatives (who are much a much smaller portion of the body politic than they think) are in the process of finding out (slowly) is that a lot of people, including a lot of churchgoers and republicans, opposed abortion because it was a freebie: they got to strike the moral pose all while knowing the issue was off limits and they'd never have to walk the walk. Now that the supreme court isn't imposing that policy, it's a different story.

Depending on how you wish to count the over 100k votes Nikki Haley got in PA, it means the Donks or anti-Trump votes totaled over 1M in the PA primary, how this translates to the general is any guess, but if I were a betting man I would say seeing as the Donks control all levers of the voting apparatus in PA, that the election is going to mirror what happened in 2020 very closely, big Trump lead on election day, and then weeks of counting that result in The Meat Puppet eventually "winning."

Trump tends to outperform the polling, I'm not arguing that. But almost all of this was still within the margin of error, so pretty accurate. A lot of it also was "undecideds" breaking for Trump.

Also, my theory is pollsters model more accurately closer to election day because they need credibility. But they can game it months out and make the Republican look weak because it's rare people will cite their polling data 6 months before an election.

I think polls are useful to show movement and momentum

I think Trump's win in Michigan in 2016 showed that Michigan is actually a battleground state when there is minimal to no cheating/rigging of the election.

Clinton and her campaign thought long-time, safe blue states like Michigan and Pennsylvania were in the bag for her in 2016 and did not dedicate resources to the states. And her campaign was so overconfident and so underestimated Trump's chances of winning that they did not engage their cheat machine fully. And that's how Michigan and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin flipped by the slimmest of margins.

0.2% in Michigan. 0.7% in Pennsylvania. 0.8% in Wisconsin. These were all states Obama won by 5%+ in 2012. 9.5% in MI, 6.9% in WI, 5.4% in PA.

So, the guy asks, "Lord, why did you make women so beautiful?" And God answers, "So that you would love them and want to take care of them and have children to carry on the species."

So then the guy asks his second question: "Lord, why did you make women so dumb?"

Have to hope that the GOP is not making the same mistake Clinton did in 2016 and just assuming "safe" red states will stay safely red.

Trump flipped Michigan from -449k to +10k. A 460k vote flip.
Trump flipped Pennsylvania from -310k to +44k. A 354k vote flip.
Trump flipped Wisconsin from -213k to +22k. A 235k vote flip.

A 631k vote flip in Texas is feasible with the Deep State cheat operation. Hopefully GOP in Texas is making sure that does not happen.

Well, I will amend. It's pointless to ask out a waitress at work. They come into contact with dozens or hundreds of men a day. For most of them, they'll get asked out at least daily. It's annoying and rarely welcomed. Unless you're Chad Thundercock, you're going to strike out 100% of the time. Even Chad will strike out at least half the time.

People don't like being bothered by customers at work. They want to do their jobs, get their paychecks and go home.

426 Howdy Ace, Horde. In an honest election, Trump will win in a historic landslide. But the deep state is desperate, and evil in a way that most folks simply can't or won't grasp.

Like reporter Lara Logan says, they're the worst people on the planet.

We must fast and pray for President Trump, the election, and our country. Fasting makes things happen that prayer alone can't.
