TROY, N.Y. — In this edition of the Section 2 high school roundup, we look at sectional baseball playoff action.

Class AAA:

SHENENDEHOWA 4, CBA 5: The Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) Brothers forced a winner-take-all Game 3 with a 5-4 victory. James Dixon’s double proved pivotal as the Brothers rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth. It capped off a 3 for 3 afternoon for Dixon. Their winner-take-all semifinal rubber match is slated for 4 p.m. Monday at Shenendehowa. The victor plays Saratoga Springs in the best-of-three championship series.

Class AA:

AVERILL PARK 8, NISKAYUNA 2: The No. 8 seed Warriors upset the No. 1 seed Silver Warriors in the quarterfinals. The Warriors’ offense was paced by Aiden Borton’s four hits, including two doubles and two RBI, and Ethan Nardacci doubled and singled. Cam Grasso singled twice for the Silver Warriors in the loss.

Class A:

ALBANY ACADEMY 6, COHOES 1: In the quarterfinals, the No. 6 Cadets upset the No. 3 Tigers. Brody Staff topped two taters and plated four, Manny Santo also went yard.

SCHALMONT 2, LA SALLE INSTITUTE 15: The top-seeded Cadets dominated the Sabres in their quarterfinal win.

Class C:

CANAJOHARIE 3, HOOSICK FALLS 4: A two-run rally in the top of the seventh propelled the Panthers past the quarterfinals. A free pass to tie the game and a groundout to take the lead was enough for the Panthers to win. Eli King doubled, A.J. Brown plated a pair for the Panthers, and starting pitcher Luke Nicholas went the distance with nine strikeouts.

MAPLE HILL 6, CHATHAM 9: Chatham rode a four-run fifth frame to come back against Maple Hill in their quarterfinal contest. Jameson Balich plated a pair, L.J. Morse tripled and Tate Van Alstyne singled twice for Chatham. Brendan Brodzinski paced Maple Hill with a pair of doubles, a single, and three RBI.
