Nicola Coughlan Talks 'Very Naked' 'Bridgerton' Scene That She Requested to Film as Response to Body Shamers

Nicola Coughlan discussed one of the nude scenes that she filmed for the new season of Bridgerton.

The 37-year-old actress takes center stage alongside Luke Newton in the hit Netflix show’s third season.

Of course, Bridgerton is renowned for its steamy love scenes. This season will be no different. Interestingly, Nicola recently revealed one stipulation about her sex scenes in her contract.

In a new interview, she also opened up about one “very naked” scene that she specifically requested to film and why. Her decision had to do with body shaming that she’s experienced online.

Speaking to Stylist, Nicola explained that she advocated “for certain lines and moments to be included.”

More specifically, “There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice,” she said, via BuzzFeed.

Why? Nicola said: “It just felt like the biggest ‘f-ck you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering. I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f-cking hot I looked!’”
