We are thrilled to learn that one of our recent alumni Callum Blackmore has soared to great heights and has completed his PhD at Columbia University, New York, which is one of the most prestigious universities in USA – an Ivy League University. Callum’s area of study is Music and his dissertation is “Opera at the dawn of capitalism: Staging economic change in France and its colonies from the Regency to the Terror”.
Callum was our Head Student in 2012 and was also Dux of the school that year. In the University Scholarship examinations that year, he topped the country in Music Studies. He also achieved University Scholarships in History and Drama and was awarded a prestigious University of Auckland Scholarship. It is wonderful that Callum has used his special gift in Music to soar in this way. We are very proud of him.
