Got engaged to love of my life
Recently got engaged and received ring of my dreams. Now feel a bit weird. I usually don’t wear any jewellery. I feel like the stone looks too big (0.5c). Here in Europe we prefer smaller diamonds. Any of you ever feel confused and doubtful even though you get a ring you really wanted?
Congrats on your engagement! If you know the specs of your center stone or the details of your ring, don't forget to let us know in the comment section. Please include finger size in your post.

Congrats it’s beautiful :) I think any new jewelry takes some time to mentally adjust to and can feel either too big or too small at first. Maybe give it a few weeks and see if you start to adjust or if it’s not the right fit for your lifestyle/daily wear.
The stone is perfect. I also like smaller diamonds. Congratulations!
Lab diamond, 0.5 carat, VS1, E. White gold 14k
Hey! I posted this fairly recently, I don’t wear a lot of jewellery and feel conflicted. I’m still confused, but it was helpful to see people’s responses
I remember your post ❤️ have you found the one you love? I can totally relate, I didn't want to spend a fortune but still wanted a pretty ring. Salt and pepper diamond made by a local (really talented) goldsmith, all I ever wanted and more.
Hey ❤️ I have! Green ish sapphire on a yellow gold band, BUT I still wrestle with myself over it and whether I should have it or just a small gold band 😅
That sounds lovely! 🤩
Ah that sounds wonderful, I'm sure it's stunning. You can always get a dainty gold band on Etsy for days you feel like it
It looks beautiful and it doesn‘t look to big ir to much, speaking from an European point of view.
It’s really pretty on your finger.
So elegant
this ring is so beautiful 🥹
It’s really lovely! I don’t think it’s large, I think it is classic and tasteful.
Ooohh, pretty!
Lovely!!
It’s been 5 days since I said yes to forever and much like you I am questioning whether it’s just too big. He purchased exactly what I had hoped for, but the center stone is larger than I had imagined.
I think it looks beautifully proportioned to your hand! I also like smaller, and to my eyes this is perfectly beautiful!
Once you get married you can switch to just wearing your band. Also you don’t have to wear the engagement ring everyday. Give yourself some days/ time off to get used to it.
Not at all I think it is lovely and you will get used to the size I am obsessed with my 1.25 carat and I like that it is noticeable it’s a reminder of the happiest night of my life
I love it
I think it looks perfect!!
I'm from EU and I know what you mean.
However, for me personally I think this would be the perfect size and good enough to pass as a good size-modern stone.
It's more important how you feel about it tho, so if you cannot get comfortable about it, what I saw on reddit some girls do is they buy another ring for everyday wear and take their engagement one only when they feel like.
Resizing the stone might be possible also, I wouldn't know what advice to give towards that. Since it's a ring you said you really like, if you have the budget I'd definitely recommend the first option so you don't mess up the ring resizing the stone.
It’s looks wonderful!! Fits your hand so well!
My 36 year old .5 diamond is plenty big even here in the USA. Your’s isn’t too big. But is classic & lovely.
When I first got my ring, which is also a .5 carat, I felt it was too small. And then the more I wore it, I realized it was the perfect size for my hands and lifestyle. Give it some time to get used to! :)
No, mine is 1 Ct and I don’t think it’s too big!
That is a gorgeous ring. Congratulations. Wish you a happy marriage.
It looks utterly beautiful and so classy! Congratulations!
