OPPO reveals Reno12 Series, to Launch in China on May 23

It has only been a few months since the Reno11 series became official in the Philippines, and OPPO is preparing for the Reno12 series in China. OPPO confirmed that the Reno12 series will launch on May 23, and the teaser photos confirm the alleged renders that we saw last month.

While the previous Reno phones have a distinct camera module, it seems that OPPO is playing it safe with the Reno12 series. The camera module reminds us of the Reno6 from 2021, though the third camera module appears to be holding a special camera. It’s hard to differentiate the standard Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, as both have the same “AI Camera System” branding. Judging from the photos, it seems that both phones will have a glass back.

According to previous rumors, the Reno12 is expected to have a Dimensity 8250 processor (which is just a refresh of the Dimensity 8200), along with as much as 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It will reportedly get an IP65 rating, and the triple rear camera setup will be roughly the same save for a new 50-megapixel portrait telephoto camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The battery will be at 5000mAh and will support 80w charging, while the 120hz curved AMOLED display will have a 1.5k resolution.

As for the Reno12 Pro, it will reportedly have the same rear camera setup, display, and charging speeds, but will get a Dimensity 9200+ processor and a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
