400 films not released due to lack of patronage: TFPS secy
Hyderabad:Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) secretary T Prasanna Kumar Reddy said the situation was indeed a cause for concern. He said that at least 400 films, which had completed their production and were ready to be released, did not hit the screens only because of lack of patronage from filmgoers. He said the IPL fever could be one reason why there was no patronage and another reason was the ongoing elections.
Prasanna Kumar, however, is optimistic that the situation will improve.
After the election results are announced on June 4, he hopes that the general public will get back to their normal routine as film entertainment is an integral part of Telugu people’s day-to-day life.
He also said a big-budget film, which was to hit the theatres in May, had to be postponed only due to there being no audiences coming to theatres. He said this film has been put off for release in June. TNN
