Q&A
5/4, Sound Check (Gravity)
She turn my dad on
She made me kill myself. COME ON!
magic make no sound
Never let me down gently
Sound check (gravity) is one of the best early Gorillaz songs that still defines the tone of the band. He takes two completely different songs and combines them at the end to make beauty out of chaos.
Sound check (gravity)
plastic beach(the song). I’ve never heard anyone talk about it before
I love that song it sets such a good foundation for the album
It’s my favourite Gorillaz song, as you can tell by my user flair
People don't talk about it!? It's such a good song wtf
I’ve just never personally heard anyone mention it
Honestly now that i think about it, i also haven't. I don't get how the title song can be underrated
It’s a casio on a plastic beach!
Styrofoam, deep sea landfill!
They played it in Miami in 2017. Yes, I did sob during that set, how did you know?
It's been a meme for a while, so I don't get what you are talking about
I have the album and I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to that song before
It’s surreal
Give it a few listens, it's one of the songs I didn't really like at first from the album cus of the slow buildup but it actually bops later on
True
I would say "Rockit"
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
I LOVE ROCKIT SO FROGGIN MUCH SHUNUSHBISHGBWIYGBSIYGBSIYGBSGUOBSOHUBSOYUBSHUOBSOUH
Magic City? Personally love it, but not sure how popular it is with the wider fan base
5/4
It’s a very catchy chorus
I think Double Bass from the self titled is pretty underrated. I don't see a lot of praise for the self titled but I think it's great! I'm more of an early Gorillaz fan, and the self titled is my 2nd favorite after Plastic Beach.
All of which makes me anxious At times unbearably so
Why not Demon days?
Starshine or white light
Severed Head or The Sounder for me.
Sounder definitely, but nobody talks about How Far?
Man research. I can see why it's not more popular but the background music slaps.
Agreed.
I know it was one of their singles, but i could talk for days about Fire Flies
it's either in an alternating 3/4(6/8) time. where it's 4 bars of 3/4, then a bar of 4/4 OR it's in 16/4, and counted 1231231231231234
the lyrics are fucking astounding.
How can you not love a bassline driven song by Gorillaz?
I've had Fire Flies stuck in my head for a couple of days now. It's so goddamn pretty.
Tomorrow comes today from self titled
That has got to be very beloved though right?
I barely see people talking about that particular song which in my eyes is a crime
68 state
maaannnn hear that song with headphones it's like walking high and alone on a highway at night
Bedebada bååå!
Revolving Doors
Left Hand Suzuki Method. Never heard anyone talk about it really.
That chonky base goes hard against those violins
Jamie T mentioned so I have to say there was a live performance of a different song by Jamie T and Damon Albarn on either MySpace video or Google video in the 2000s and its seemingly gone from the internet now. Would love to see it if anyone can locate it
Pirate jet 4 me
Doncamatic
I think this one is kinda cool and very catchy. But obviously it came out in their worst time. So probably left a bad taste in the fans' mouth.
Double bass, Faust, One Percent
Rock the house
murdoc is god
All of them
Honestly, Demon Days has a lot of great songs that don't get too much attention nowadays. All Alone, White Light, November Has Come. I'm also obssesed with Charger from Humanz, haven't seen people talk about it.
by far re hash
Came here to say Gravity as well. Or Dracula
Every song on self titled is the best
Clint Eastwood... Ed Case and sweetie irie version.
yeeeesssssssss!
Aspen Forest
Submission. Even without Damon’s vocals it’s one of my favorite song off the Humanz album.
Empire Ants. it's my bestie's favorite Gorillaz song, and it's easily top 5 for me (don't ask me what my top 5 is there's like 25 diff picks lmaoooooo). it's just such an immaculate vibe, so incredibly well-produced in all aspects, vocal performances and feature choices are incredible, and the lyrics are very relatable if you choose to look into them. yet i never hear anyone mention it in any context other than a full album review
Super fast jellyfish
Submission is such a good song and nobody talks about it
Well if we're including remixes then Kids With Guns (Hot Chip Remix).
Otherwise maybe Slow Country. Especially the version of Slow County SPECIFICALLY from their very first live concert EVER at Scala in London, England, UK on 22 March, 2001 where Damon actually plays the melodica on the last bit of the song instead of vocalizing it as he does in the album version of the song and literally EVERY OTHER LIVE PERFORMANCE OF IT as well. Dunno why he only played that part on melodica in this one single performance and then never did it again, as it sounds absolutely PERFECT on the melodica — extremely beautiful, even a bit melancholic......or I s'pose melodicholic?
https://youtu.be/OastZ8UzRmQ?si=ht-CXuY67_yJJr9q (The part I'm referring to is at 2:20 to 2:48)

I've always been a big fan of this one:
Stylo - Tenkah Remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcW1jQrTbLc
I think it's an official remix but I don't actually remember.
dare dfa remix
I love aspen forest
El Manana - metronomy remix
I really like Don Quixote Christmas Bonanza.
The entire second half of Now Now is, in my opinion, the best Gorillaz music ever
Mr softies balloon race
That’s weird. Seems to be everyone’s fav
Possession Island (ft. Beck)
The second song to ever make me cry
what was the first?
I Will Go Sailing No More - Randy Newman
cool
jimmy jimmy, usually i like their older songs, but even though it was released in 2021, it sounds like one of their older songs.
Sweepstakes
Latin Simone. I've always felt it was one of the strongest on the debut album and I still listen to it when I need to chill out.
