!!!'''Voiced By:''' Judd Shiffler (English), Yuki Tamai (Japanese), Han Man-joong (Korean)\\
'''Attribute:''' Inferno \\
'''Rarity:''' Rare\\
'''Role:''' Support

A lively old man who enjoys matchmaking people. He is a support Esper who boosts allies' attack and can reduce ability cooldowns.
* ''Under That Moon'' deals damage to an enemy based on Unky Chai's ATK and increases his AP.
* ''Ties That Bind'' is a passive ability that grants C. Rate UP to two random allies at the beginning of each turn. When ascended, the ability will also grant ATK Up, and if an ally already has ATK Up, it'll lower their cooldowns.
* ''Ropes of Destiny'' grants ATK Up to the party. If an ally already has ATK Up, the ability will lower their cooldowns.
----
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He enjoys helping people out whether they're in need or not, and is so humble that he will always turn down any gifts from the people he helped. He only wishes for those around him to have a second chance and opportunities they never had.
* CoolOldGuy: He's 66, and yet he's damn ripped and is a superb bounty hunter.
* CoolShades: Sports a pair of stylish sunglasses. Becomes the subject one one of Freddy's side stories, where he sets out to find Unky Chai out of fear that the latter's shades are cooler than his, but then the pair bond over it and Freddy admits that Unky Chai has the better eyewear.
* LimitedAnimation: Strangely, he's the only Esper among everyone else who only has ''one'' mugshot during side episodes (and used to share this infamous honor with Lynn). Later, he got a brand new mugshot...but is still not animated in any way. Notably, if his Path of Experiences is completed, the player is awarded his ''first'' mugshot, which ''is'' animated this time.
* TheMatchmaker: His powers are based on Yue Lao, the Chinese god of marriage and love. Unfortunately, this often annoys the younger generation, since he's pushy with his unsolicited wisdom.
* OddFriendship: With Layla, which also crosses as IntergenerationalFriendship as she's 25 and he's 66.
* ThePollyanna: His overly nice behavior hides the loss of his own family, prompting him to treat his own neighbors as if they were his family members.
* RedStringOfFate: Uses these in battle. Justified as the concept is directly linked to Yue Lao, who is known as "The Old Man Under The Moon" that connects people destined to be together with an invisible red string.
* SilverFox: At 66, he's the oldest character in the game, but he's still got a good eye for [[CoolShades eyewear]] and is in incredible shape for his age, which he shows off by being a WalkingShirtlessScene.
* SuperGullible: Unky Chai has a bad habit of falling for fake medical articles online, and routinely sends them to Layla, who in turn routinely chastises him for believing everything he reads on the internet.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: He doesn't wear a shirt, showing off his impressive muscles and myriad of tattoos.

!!!'''Voiced By:''' Holly Lindin (English), Rin Kusumi (Japanese), Jung Yu-jung (Korean)\\
'''Attribute:''' Shimmer\\
'''Rarity:''' Rare\\
'''Role:''' Fighter

A back alley doctor with a mobile clinic known for charging hefty fees. Layla is a fighter who specializes in dealing status ailments - preferably poison - for increased damage.
* ''Fainting Lightwave'' deals damage equal to a percentage of Layla's ATK and has a chance to stun the target.
* ''Berserker Ray'' transfers one debuff from each ally to an enemy and then does damage equal to a large percentage of Layla's ATK, while also having a chance to inflict Diseased. When this ability is ascended, it deals bonus damage to Poisoned enemies.
* ''Gaze of the True Gods'' attacks all enemies twice, dealing damage equal to a percentage of Layla's ATK while also inflicting Poison.
----
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Her third ability, ''Gaze of the True Gods'', has her summon a giant version of Medjed (the god she's the Esper of) to shoot a giant laser from his eyes.
* BackAlleyDoctor: Outright stated to be one of these.
* BerserkButton: Don't tell her that she should find a boyfriend.
* CantStandThemCantLiveWithoutThem: Despite all of Unky Chai's nagging on Layla's marital status, deep down, she appreciates that someone like him cares for her wellbeing.
* CombatMedic: Not of the healing variety, but she's still a doctor and playable Esper who uses defibrillators to attack her foes.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Just morally ambiguous at best.
* DrJerk: She's rather stubborn and snippy, particularly to her patients who have something to say about how much she charges for her services. This has earned the nickname "Treasure Devourer" for her insistency to use her medicine on people.
* EyeBeams: Which she uses so often because she's not good at keeping her emotions in check.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Yellow outlines, black eyes, and strange blue pupils.
* {{Foil}}: To Lauren. They're both short female dark skinned blondes who are doctors as well as Espers of Egyptian gods. Lauren is a member of the Union who wants to use her powers to help wherever she can, and has a special fondness for [[FriendToAllChildren children]]. Layla is a BackAlleyDoctor who charges hefty fees and doesn't always get along with or understand her patients as well as she should. This also extends to gameplay; Lauren's kit has her [[CastFromHitPoints sacrifice her own [=HP=] to heal her team]], while Layla's kit can't even heal her team to begin with, instead focusing on inflicting debuffs and poisoning.
* ForScience: Much of the reason for her morally ambiguous experiments is because of this. It helps that she's not tied to the Union or the Shadow Decree so she goes unsupervised.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Wields a pair of defibrillators.
* LonersAreFreaks: She chooses to hole herself up at her clinic and not go out from it, unless she needs to eat. Unky Chai is perhaps the only connection she has to the outside world.
* MadScientist: While she isn't evil, her treatments and experiments are outright called morally questionable, being performed in secluded areas with an alarmingly enthusiastic smile. The game even calls her a mad genius on top of it all.
* TheMedic: Her main job as a doctor, though her cures are useful, it doesn't help much how shady she is about using them.
* OddFriendship: With Unky Chai. Her profile even notes that it's odd. Doubles as an IntergenerationalFriendship, as she is 25 and he is 66.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Can you believe she's 25?
* PoisonousPerson: Downplayed. While parts of her kit revolve around inflicting the Poison status, it's not a central theme to her character.
* PowerFloats: Played straight in her profile menu and her mugshot art, but subverted in battle, where she prefers to be standing on the ground. It's also heavily implied that she's always standing on the ground during cutscenes when adults aren't able to spot her.
* ShockAndAwe: Attacks with electricity using a pair of defibrillators.
* StealthHiBye: Perhaps due to her short stature, and despite her Esper looks, she's somehow being able to sneak around adults without being noticed until she speaks up. Given her disposition as a loner, she's elated by this.
* TokenMiniMoe: Outside the main two organizations. Funnily enough, she gets into a [[{{Pun}} little]] argument with Q over his own youthful appearance.

'''Attribute:''' Wind\\
'''Rarity:''' Epic\\
'''Role:''' Fighter

A heroic mercenary and bounty hunter from Grandis who lives his dream of being a true hero. He is a fighter Esper who can strike random targets several times.

* ''Phoenix Arrows'' attacks an enemy three times, dealing damage based on Lu Yi's ATK. Each hit has a chance of inflicting Sear.
* ''Unshackling'' is a passive ability. Lu Yi's attacks have a chance of dealing extra True Damage. This True Damage is based on the target's Max HP, and can't exceed a certain percentage of Lu Yi's ATK. When ascended, upon landing a critical hit, the chance to deal True Damage increases.
* ''Skyshot'' preforms single target attacks nine times on random targets, dealing damage based on Lu Yi's ATK. Each hit has a chance of inflicting Bleed.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite his sunny disposition, he prefers to work alone and won't join any factions. If people attempt to, he often scares them with his mask.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He is best friends with Bardon, who also grew up admiring superheroes from comics. They're also both silver-haired Espers.
* TheChewToy: He is often collateral damage to Brewster's explosive attacks.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He lives out his dream of being a true hero that he's willing to turn down any rewards if it's for a good cause.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Of the Desperado side tale alongside [[spoiler:Sieg]].
* DistressedDude: [[spoiler:In the Desperado side tale, he gets kidnapped by Djoser. It takes Brewster a while before he decides to go save Lu Yi.]]
* GreatBow: Wields a giant bow into battle, representing the Chinese archer god Dayi.
* IWorkAlone: He used to work for the Esper Union by Bardon's request, but he left the team when he found its regulations towards criminals to be lacking for his tastes. Still, he is often working with the boombastic Brewster.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Has long, silver, flowing hair.
* OddFriendship: With Brewster, whom Lu Yi helped out after Brewster EscapedFromTheLab. Ever since then, the two have been together (for better to Brewster and worse for Lu Yi). Strangely enough, despite Lu Yi's lone wolf attitude in regards to his heroics, he makes an exception for Brewster.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue oni to Brewster's extreme red oni.
* SelfDeprecation: He insists that he's not a true hero and believes he's got a long road ahead to achieve that, despite the fact many see him as a hero anyway.

'''Attribute:''' Wind\\
'''Rarity:''' Epic\\
'''Role:''' Support

A good-looking troubadour who enjoys life as a free spirit. He is a support Esper who can grant several buffs to a single ally.

* ''Glorious Aura'' deals damage to an enemy based on Fabrice's ATK, and grants Recovery to the ally with the lowest HP.
* ''Love Sonata'' gives a large amount of AP to an ally. When ascended, it also gives them ATK Up.
* ''Autumn Butterflies'' grants Invincibility to a selected ally, and Immunity to the whole party.
----
* BelligerentSexualTension: Though he vaguely started a romantic relationship with Melanie, his character episode shows that the relationship has soured due to Fabrice's incompetence to clear his debts with Evening Sounds, exasperating Melanie.
* ButNowIMustGo: He will reject the idea of ever settling down anywhere or with anyone. Not even the close bond he built with Li Guang was enough to change his mind.
* TheCasanova: He is very popular with the ladies, often giving them a good impression upon a first meeting. Unfortunately for him, Melanie started to see his pathetic work ethic as a bounty hunter.
* {{Jerkass}}: Though he enjoys listening and playing the cielo for people - especially women - he is always thinking if it's time to leave.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: He felt this way towards Li Guang, who shared the same sentiment, until Fabrice decided to leave her side because he wanted to be a lonely minstrel without close attachments.
* PrettyButterflies: He's always accompanied by butterflies, who like nesting around his own head and face. This takes cues with the Norse god Freyr, who was related to fertility, peace, and a good harvest (among other traits).
* RestoredMyFaithInHumanity: When he was lost, thinking that no one in the world required him, he happened to find Li Guang, who was abandoned by her family on the streets. Through looking after her and enjoying her bright optimism, he recovered emotionally [[KickTheDog (and then ditched her because he didn't want to be tied to her)]].
* WalkingTheEarth: Ever since fleeing from home, he has traveled all over to enjoy life to the fullest, though he abhors settling down anywhere, even if it's for a good cause.

!!!'''Voiced By''': Vii Zedek (English), Creator/YuSasahara (Japanese), Kim Yea-lim (Korean)\\
'''Attribute''': Wind\\
'''Rarity''': Epic \\
'''Role''': Fighter

A free-spirited energetic bounty hunter who enjoys thrilling adventures and her freedom. She is a fighter Esper who provides herself and her allies with AP up effects.

* ''Bright Flames'' hits an enemy twice, dealing damage based on Li Guang's ATK. Each hit grants her a certain amount of AP.
* ''Fetching Fire'' hits an enemy twice, dealing damage based on Li Guang's ATK. Each point of SPD deals extra damage, also based on her ATK, and each hit steals a buff from the target. When ascended, upon stealing a buff, she extends the duration of her own buffs.
* ''Dazzling Sunfire'' attacks an enemy three times, dealing damage based on Li Guang's ATK. Each point of SPD deals extra damage, also based on her ATK. She will also increase the AP of the entire party.
----
* AnimalMotif: The vermilion bird, which is one of the four Chinese constellations.
* BigEater: Especially towards steamed buns. She has a very simplistic mindset that she advices people to "eat when you're hungry" while eating a steamed bun.
* BirdsOfAFeather: {{Pun}} aside, she's a fan of the Samurai Flower franchise as much as Intisar is, and the two happen to be anonymous forum friends who later find each other's identity while trying to buy a single limited edition Samurai Flower action figure (they both end up sharing it separately in separate days or together on Sundays).
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She was deserted by her mother when her father was killed by Miramon and was forced to live on the streets. To make matters worse for her, she had become an Esper who had no idea how to use her powers. Only when Fabrice stumbled upon her, she started to learn how to be an adventurer and learned how to control her Esper powers.
* ADayInTheLimelight: She stars in the ''Sea and Song'' story event, being sent to the coastal town of Bremis as a favor to Gaius to prevent the Cube Miracle's Nexus from causing another tsunami just like the one that wiped out Estero Harbor 14 years ago.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Of the Static Shock event, leading behind Gaius, whom she idolizes as a hero.
* GenkiGirl: She's ''very'' excitable, all in the name of adventure. Hardly anything gets her down.
* GogglesDoNothing: She wears them in her album art, but they just perch atop her head in her model and every other piece of art she has.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: She felt this way towards Fabrice, who shared the same sentiment, until Fabrice decided to leave her side because he wanted to be a lonely minstrel without close attachments.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Melanie tried to hook her up with a guy who got smitten by her...and then Li Guang started talking about her incredibly dangerous adventures that she barely survived (but was very excited for), which left the man a frightened mess and left in a hurry, much to Melanie's dismay and Li Guang's obliviousness.
* PlayingWithFire: Her main element, as her powers are derived from the Chinese Vermilion Bird. Despite this, she's Wind-attuned instead of Inferno.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Invoked. Gaius felt this way about her because she reminded him of his deceased girlfriend, not romantically, but rather because [[NeverBeHurtAgain he didn't want Li Guang to die trying to help him and him failing to protect her.]]
* ThrillSeeker: As she's a huge adventurer fanatic, she enjoys any and all kinds of adventures, even if the most wondrous places lie past the most dangerous of places.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Steamed buns. Her menu and gacha animations see her munching on them, and they're listed as her favourite thing in her profile.
* WalkingTheEarth: She adores to explore the world. It was thanks to her archaeologist father who took her to his fieldwork trips that she took on being an explorer.

!!!'''Voiced By''': Aimee Smith (English), Yuuka (Japanese), Park Ha-jin (Korean)\\
'''Attribute''': Wind\\
'''Rarity''': Epic \\
'''Role''': Support

Known as the Gear Master, Ain is a no-nonsense engineer with a short fuse. She is a support Esper who can grant protection and increase allies' damage based on her maximum HP.

* ''Shock Beam'' attacks an enemy twice, dealing damage based on Ain's ATK. Each hit has a chance to inflict C. RATE Down.
* ''Force Barrier'' grants Standoff to Ain, and gives a shield to the rest of her team. The shield's strength is based on Ain's Max HP.
* ''Maker's Strike'' attacks an enemy three times, dealing damage based on a mix of Ain's ATK and Max HP. Each hit has a chance to inflict DEF Down, and after both hits, a random ally is will preform an assist attack. When ascended, if Ain is not incapacitated while this ability is on cooldown, then the rest of her team deals extra damage when attacking outside of their turn. Damage is based on Ain's Max HP.
----
* DefrostingIceQueen: She used to be worse than she is now, as she used to make machines for a living until she turned over a new leaf and started designing machines for protection.
* GadgeteerGenius: She's a very remarkable engineer and she's known as the Gear Master. This is in line with the Egyptian god Ptah, who was known as a maker of things.
* HotBlooded: Irritating her while she's in the zone can delay her custom orders or get a wrench to the face.
* KindheartedCatLover: She develops an affection towards a stray cat she named Wrench, until she found out it was Kaylee's cat Chili. Despite this, she agreed to come visit Chili.
* MoneyFetish: Due to being from the slums, she developed an obsession with money. However, she doesn't charge anything to those in need; from giving cats with broken legs protesthic legs to giving hearing aids to deaf kids.
* NiceGirl: As mentioned above, when she's not irritated, that is.
* OlderThanSheLooks: She looks like a little kid, and yet she's 27.
* RedBaron: The Gear Master.
* RestoredMyFaithInHumanity: Since she was very young, her mentor Sidon taught her that there was good in people. She, in turn, helped Sidon talk him out of blowing himself up with a bomb after he lost his family.
* RobotBuddy: She's accompanied by a four-legged mechanical creature that she presumably built herself and is frequently seen [[HorseOfADifferentColor riding on]]. Not much is known about it, nor does it seem to have a name, but it's likely a reference to Apis, a sacred bull from Egyptian mythology who was connected to Ptah.
* WrenchWench: She's a talented, genius mechanic and engineer, and her career blurbs even imply her to be a ChildProdigy.

!!!'''Voiced By''': Creator/PMSeymour (English), Teruyuki Tanzawa (Japanese), Kim Ji-yul (Korean)\\
'''Attribute''': Wind\\
'''Rarity''': Epic \\
'''Role''': Fighter

The guardian of Debia and restorer of artifacts who looks after Old Kush City to preserve its history. He is a fighter Esper who exploits inflicting Bleed on foes.

* ''Stinghook'' deals damage to an enemy based on Alolin's ATK. If the enemy is carrying Bleed, the damage from every Bleed stack they have is dealt immediately, and then they're inflicted with more Bleed.
* ''Plague Famine'' is a passive ability. Once per turn, if an enemy makes their ally's Bleed effect end early, then Alolin's ability cooldowns are reduced by one turn.
* ''Veiled Gusts'' attacks all enemies three times, dealing damage based on Alolin's ATK. Each hit inflicts Bleed, and has a chance to dispel a buff from the enemy. When ascended, Alolin gains Stealth when using this ability.
----
* BeastMan: He's a tall slender black lion with a scorpion tail, modeled after the personification of Mesopotamian southwestern wind Pazuzu.
* BreakingOldTrends: Alongside Liam, he's the other beast Esper who's not affiliated with the Inferno attribute.
* BlowYouAway: His abilities involve him summoning up winds to attack, particularly ''Veiled Gusts'' which sees him summoning a tornado. This is in reference to Pazuzu, who was both the personification of the southwestern wind and the demon of destructive wind in Mesopotamian mythology. Fittingly enough, Alolin is a Wind-attuned Esper.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He had a brother named Paterry who had a fascination for history and culture since they were young. However, a wave of refugees sought shelter in their museum during the arrival of Debia's Miracle and [[UngratefulBastard looted the entire place]], which also resulted in Paterry's death.
* FriendToAllChildren: He find kids adorable, and he's even got a kid assistant to help him in his trips to Old Kush City.
* MyGreatestFailure: It's implied that his inability to protect his brother from being killed is what he's trying to move on by defending and restoring Debia's artifacts, which he fiercely devotes his time for.
* SeriousBusiness: He takes the restoration and preservation of artifacts incredibly seriously. It's implied that he does it to honor his late brother Paterry, who had a deep love for history, and he'll literally put himself in harm's way in order to defend his relics.
* YouShallNotPass: When Unas had found Alolin at Old Kush City, he found Alolin all battered and injured after defending intact artifacts behind him from Miramon.

* ''Icicle Darts'' deals damage to an enemy based on Aurelius' ATK. It also has a chance to inflict SPD Down.
* ''Icebreak Fury'' attacks an enemy multiple times, dealing damage based on Aurelius' ATK. If the target is frozen or has SPD Down, this ability removes the freezing effects and deals extra damage, again based on Aurelius' ATK. When ascended, this extra damage ignores the target's DEF.
* ''Frost Glory'' attacks all enemies twice, dealing damage based on Aurelius' ATK. The first hit inflicts Freeze and SPD Down, and the second hit does bonus damage to frozen enemies or enemies with SPD Down, again based on Aurelius' ATK.
----
* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Chang Pu share the same kind of respect towards flowers, and they both are shy.
* {{Escapism}}: Being in the tundra is his way to escape from the world, and he knows this.
* InconvenientAttraction: Though his romantic feelings for Alexa didn't start off as this, they became this when she became wealthy and powerful; the kind of people Aurelius dislikes. And yet, he still yearns for her company.
* MistakenForUndead: It's because of him that rumors about the ghost of a guide luring lost people at the tundra to their deaths started to spread. The truth is he often finds lost people and gives them guidance at a small camping site before they depart. But, after a little while, he decides to clean any tracks left behind to avoid alerting Miramon, only then said lost people come back after getting lost again and are horrified to see that their resting site essentially vanished along with Aurelius.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: His parents were killed in a tragedy made by the wealthy and powerful just because he happened to save someone.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: He has had a history filled with bad experiences from people using him, especially the wealthy. This has caused him to become very socially awkward that even good-humored teasing is taken the wrong way, and he prefers not to socialize.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Roasted skewers.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: Though not as traumatic as most examples, he transformed into an Esper after suffering the pain from his heroic actions.
* UnwittingPawn: Has become the target of this from his experiences, especially when he became an Esper.
* WeaponsOfTheirTrade: He's a hunter and wields a crossbow in battle. His powers are based on the Norse "God" Ullr, associated with winter, skiing, and snow sports. He was also known for his archery skills.

* ''Trending'' attacks an enemy twice. It deals damage based on Chloe's ATK and has a chance to steal a buff from the target.
* ''Stage of Fantasy'' launches four strikes on random enemies, dealing damage based on Chloe's ATK. If the target doesn't have any buffs, Chloe will inflict Buff Blocker on them. When ascended, this ability extends the duration of Chloe's buffs.
* ''Fashion Sense'' launches five strikes on random enemies, dealing damage based on Chloe's ATK and stealing two buffs from each target. Damage is increased by a certain percentage for each of Chloe's buffs.
----
* ArtworkAndGameGraphicsSegregation: Her story sprite and 3D model give her a halo that looks like a belt, which is absent in her other artwork. Meanwhile, her 3D model gives her a pale human skin tone, while all her 2D art makes her skin light pink (except the portrait for her "Heartthrob" outfit, which goes with the same skin tone as her model).
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite her dark outfit and overall creepy appearance, along with her downright murderous patron deity Medea, she's one of the nicest Espers out there. That being said, don't make her mad or she'll make you bald.
* TheDreaded: She has dealt with Shadow Decree thugs by leaving them ''bald'' whenever they disrupted her charity events, and she muses about shaving their eyebrows.
* TheFashionista: She has a rather important view on fashion, believing that only beauty and hope have the strength to save the world in the dark times with Miramon prowling about. She is extremely dedicated to her craft that she's always thinking new ways to provide fashion services to even scaled-Espers (said services are said to become popular almost right away). And to top it all off, she's not above going to rural areas to provide free services just to brighten up people's lives.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Not regarding her alignment as a neutral Esper, but rather because of rumors that she only does buzz cuts just because of Gaius's perfectionist obsession of cutting his hair every ''3 days'' whenever it gets ''1mm'' taller.
* IWorkAlone: She has denied joining offers from the Esper Union, Shadow Decree, and even other neutral factions due to her views of helping any sort of person realize how beautiful they are.
* NeverASelfMadeWoman: Averted. Her well-mannered attitude as a child didn't make people think that she'd become so strong-willed.
* NiceGirl: As stated above, she makes spontaneous trips from her schedule to rural areas to provide free services to people in need.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Perhaps ''the'' degree of separation. She offers her fashion services to both Esper Union (like David, Raven, and even their leader ''Gaius'' [[TheThingThatWouldNotLeave (to her chagrin)]]) and Shadow Decree members (like Freddy and even their commander ''Sander'') without either side ever finding out about each other. She does know this, however, because she wishes to give everyone the opportunity to realize how beautiful they are.
* RecurringExtra: You're most likely to see her popping up in many other Espers' side tales due to being ''the'' OneDegreeOfSeparation.
* SadlyMythtaken: Her character profile calls the mythological figure she's the Esper of a sophisticated goddess. Medea was a powerful sorceress and demigod, but she was never depicted as a goddess.
* ShearMenace: Her weapon is a giant scissor blade.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Has a competitive streak in her regarding other fashion studios winning fashion competitions, which can sour her mood while trying to come up with brand new ideas.
* {{Tsundere}}: Towards David, whom she's secretly in love with. She's the only person who leaves harsh comments on his social page as a subtle way to get him to come to her Fashion Studio for hair treatment. Then again, he ''does'' believe that she loves him, but she often brushes off how he misinterprets their friendship at times. Their relationship alludes to Medea of Greek mythology, who was in love with Jason (the Greek hero whom David's powers are based from).

The master of the Mirror Palace and the Golden City, close friend to Abigail Saunbert. She is a support Esper who can heal her allies and perform counterattacks that hamper enemies' survivability.

* ''Brilliance'' deals damage while having a chance to lower their accuracy.
* ''Phantasia'' Balances all allied Espers' HP ratios. If an ally has the ''Kiss of the Nightingale'' buff, it restores 20% of their max HP. When ascended, she'll also dispel a debuff from all her allies, and heal them if successful.
* ''Kiss of the Nightingale'' grants an ally with a buff that returns 75% of the damage they receive back to the opponent and dispels a buff from them at the beginning of their turn.
----
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: In the Ruler's Law event, [[spoiler:while Jin Yuyao shows Alexa to Abigail through her communicator, Alexa says that she's covered in bruises, has a bloodied mouth and bruised legs. Yet, her sprite only has a couple of bruises on her face (and in the fully illustrated scene in 2-6, more bruises can be seen on her body) and doesn't look too badly beat up otherwise.]]
* BeneathTheMask: Befriending Biondina was what allowed Alexa to finally lower her guard down and share her true feelings with someone...until Alexa started to become toxic and controlling towards her, causing the two women to part ways after a conflict. * ObfuscatingStupidity: Alexa presents herself as an empty-headed ditz with a welcoming smile while in reality she is a cunning and patient woman with good listening abilities that'll achevie her goals and trick people into confessing their deepest secrets to her.
* ParentalAbandonment: She was abandoned as a baby but was raised by dancers.

A young dancer from Gyrate's Wings who uses her dancing skills to brighten people's lives. She is a support Esper who can exploit her unique buff ''Kagura Dance'' to provide allies with more damage dealt and healing received.

* ''Bell Twirl'' deals damage to an enemy based on a mix of Koharu's ATK and Max HP. A debuff is dispelled from Koharu, and she gains Recovery.
* ''Pirouette'' deals damage to an enemy based on a mix of Koharu's ATK and Max HP. It also inflicts Diseased and Sear. When ascended, if Koharu has the Kagura Dance buff, she also heals the party.
* ''Prayer Dance'' attacks all enemies, dealing damage based on a mix of Koharu's ATK and Max HP. She has a chance to inflict ATK Down, and the party receives Kagura Dance, which increases the damage they do and the healing they receive.
----
* BreakingOldTrends: Along with Jin-hee, she's the first East Asian Esper to not be Chinese, being Japanese instead.
* CareerEndingInjury: Not her, but her dancing mother became disabled after her legs were gravely injured by the Miramon 10 years prior. When Koharu performed on a celebratory stage, she finally managed to bring a smile to her mother's face, and that's how she decided on continuing her mother's dream of being a dancer.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: To her great embarrassment, she can't keep herself from burying her face into large stuff animals (especially a big seal plush named Pizzazz), saying it's not so elegant of her to do. Stewart eases her worries by saying that it doesn't really matter how old she is to do so and even bought her another big plush.
* MagicDance: She uses her powers so that her dances look more mystical and alluring for the public to enjoy, which takes cue from the Japanese goddess Ame-no-Uzume, whose dancing came to be known as the Japanese ritual dance Kagura.
* {{Miko}}: Multiple things about her evoke the image of one. Her outfit has the red and white color scheme and the long sleeves, her third ability summons a large torii gate, and her outfit and staff are adorned with suzu bells. Her staff in particular has a set of kagura suzu bells on the end of it.
* MistakenIdentity: She gets mistaken for another girl by an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease who lost her daughter to the Miracles but believes Koharu is her dead daughter. Ever since then, Koharu has personally come to her hospital room to ease her worries by pretending to be her daughter.
* ThePerfectionist: Her creed of elegance may be a bit much on the surface, given she has created "Guidelines for Elegance" for her dance troupe that goes in great detail on simply smiling alone (the entry has 10 situations and 17 precautions). There are also 24 "Refined Strategies for dealing with unexpected situations. On top of all this, she abhors horror movies because they can easily make someone lose control of their facial expressions. And if all this wasn't enough, she has ''72'' "Rules of Elegance."
* ProperLady: She lives with the creed that one must practice elegance in all aspects of life, and there can be no room for coarseness. She does everything she can to be elegant from dancing to smiling simply, [[GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals unless she loses to the temptation of cuddling up to stuffed animals.]]
* TheReliableOne: She became a "wish-granting genie" to her troupe members for her assistance and right answers in everything. Her reliability gave birth to "The Song of Koharu," whose only verse was "Koharu, Koharu, make wishes come true."

The ringmaster of the Red Chili Circus, she wants to bring smiles to people with her circus's performances. She's a fighter Esper who relies of heavy assist attacks through her unique ''Red Chili'' buff.

* Her unique buff is called Red Chili. Each stack of this buff increases Adrina's ATK and C. DMG, and she can have up to three stacks.
* ''Flamespitter'' attacks an enemy twice, dealing damage based on a mix of Adrina's ATK and Max HP. She then gains a stack of Red Chili.
* ''Covering Fire'' is a passive ability. At the start of an ally's turn, Adrina removes nearly ''all'' of her AP in favor of preforming assist attacks when an ally casts a basic ability. When she has two stacks of Red Chili, she launches a pursuit attack on all enemies, dealing damage based on her ATK and Max HP, which has a chance to inflict Stun. When she reaches three stacks of Red Chili, she gets rid of them in exchange for an extra turn, and when ascended, she gets rid of all her debuffs too.
* ''Warmest Welcome'' deals damage to all enemies based on Adrina's ATK and Max HP, and does more damage when fewer targets are on the field. She inflicts DEF Down on the enemies, and gives all allies (apart from herself) some AP.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Canines, thanks to her appearance and energetic nature, which brings to mind a playful dog.
* AssistCharacter: Her main gimmick is to tank her own AP at the start of her teammates' turns in favor of fully committing to assisting other party members by attacking with her own follow-up attacks with every basic abilities they use. It's only when her ''Red Chili'' buff stacks enough that she can attack normally before repeating the whole process again.
* BeastMan: Dislyte's first proper gender inverted example of one. Her appearance is influenced by Chantico's fate of being turned into a dog after breaking a ritual fast. She looks more like a fox than a dog (which are part of the canine family), but doesn't have a fox tail, so it's unclear what exact species she's supposed to be, if any.
* BreakingOldTrends: Out of all the female Espers who vaguely have beastly appearances, she's the only one who looks more anthropomorphic (as a fox).
* CircusBrat: She was taken in and raised by circus performers after her parents were killed by Miramon. Nowadays, she leads a circus of her own.
* FireBreathingWeapon: A fire-breathing ''trumpet,'' of all things. Considering her love of spicy food and her powers being from an Aztec fire goddess, it'd be no surprise if she was [[BreathWeapon literally breathing fire]] out of that thing.
* GenkiGirl: She's very energetic, fitting her PlayingWithFire specialty.
* InstrumentOfMurder: Her weapon is a large trumpet that functions like a flamethrower when she blows into it.
* PlayingWithFire: She channels fire powers through ''eating red chilis''.
* SpicyLatina: She embodies a Mexican theme with her love for red chilis, which are associated with paprika, which was used with roasted fish by the Aztec god Chantico breaking a fast that led to her getting turned into a dog by Tonacatecuhtli.
* StartMyOwn: The Red Chili Circus came into being after she found out the ringmaster of her first circus had vandalized the stage and props after she had put a performance that wasn't in line with his strict specifications. Disgruntled by his effort to make her fail, she took some of the loyal members of the circus with her and formed her own circus.
* TransformationExhilaration: Her Transformation first occurred when she put on an unforgettable performance for the crowd when she decided to break away from the ringmaster's strict instructions. Listening to the laughter of the people triggered her Transformation.
* UnaffectedBySpice: She has a very high tolerance for spicy food that she usually stacks her rice bowls with really ''big'' red chilis.

* ''Witch's Blessing'' is a passive ability. If Alice can take action at the start of her turn, she grants ATK Up to any ally with a buff.
* ''Crystal Shards'' increases the duration of all ally buffs by one turn, and all allies receive C. RATE Up. When ascended, all allies will also receive SPD Up.
----
* NightmareFetishist: Alice has been fascinated by occultism since her childhood, which her conservative family disapproved of. It got to the point where they ousted her from the family after she became an Esper, as they saw her powers as witchcraft.

When Feng Xun comes into the picture, her greed [[spoiler:becomes her downfall when she goes nearly insane trying to secure a happy life living with her revived parents (while stuck in divination).]]
* {{Foil}}: To Feng Xun. They're both connected to fate, as Feng Xun can read the fates of others and Yalina's deity is the goddess of fate. Feng Xun avoids conflict, having left home after his sister fell into a coma after almost being kidnapped by the Shadow Decree, while Yalina has no qualms about kidnapping or killing people to get what she wants or if they break a promise, even if it's her own family.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:After coming to terms that she needs to focus on the present rather than righting the wrongs of her past, she willingly turns herself in to the Esper Union.]]

A cold and cool-headed young lady who seeks to become stronger after being DelicateAndSickly during her infancy, formerly a Shadow Decree member until deserting it for a journey of self-discovery. She and Leora grew up in the same orphanage and consider themselves as sisters, though the relationship has soured over the years. They still have a lingering sisterly bond deep down. She is a fighter Esper with her unique ''Night Goddess'' buff, which can extend if Leora is in the same team. Otherwise, she gains ''Duskglow'' if Leora is a foe.

* Elaine has two undispellable buffs at her disposal. They are...
** Night Goddess, which grants Elaine Stealth, transfers one debuff from each ally to her target upon landing a Critical Hit, and increases enemy Miss Rate.
** Duskglow, which increases Elaine's C. DMG and makes her attacks against Leora unresistable.
* ''Night Raid'' deals damage to an enemy based on Elaine's ATK and inflicts Sleep. While in Stealth, this attack deals extra damage. Elaine's attacks do not wake sleeping enemies, and she has a chance to ignore some of a sleeping enemy's DEF when attacking them.
* ''Oblivion Strike'' attacks an enemy five times, dealing damage based on Elaine's ATK. Each hit steals a buff from the target, and then Elaine inflicts ATK Down and Sleep. When ascended, this attack does more AP damage for each of the target's debuffs.
* ''Endless Night'' grants Elaine the Night Goddess buff and clears all enemy Stealth effects. Then, it attacks an enemy five times, dealing damage based on Elaine's ATK. Each hit inflicts Sleep and Buff Blocker. If Leora is in the party and has War Goddess, Night Goddess' duration is extended. If Leora is on the enemy team, Elaine gains Duskglow at the start of combat.
----
* AloofAlly: Though they had a rocky relationship that ended with a fight, Elaine does care about Leora in a stealthy shy way.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: She sent Leora a full comic book set of her favorite shoujo manga that was already out of print on her birthday. When told about it, Elaine just dismisses it as something she just happened to find on a trip out.
* BecomingTheMask: She has long since become so distant and aloof because any sign of vulnerability could be exploited.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: She receives several clues from a secret sender who she beat before and wanted to go out on a date with her, but Elaine becomes too paranoid of the random clues and only gets more suspicious when she asks ''Embla'' for guidance, who convinces her that someone wants to kill her instead. She ends up scaring the poor guy and she runs away in embarrassment when she learns he was trying to ask her out.
* DelicateAndSickly: During her orphanage years, she had a weak constitution as a child and was often bedridden. When she became an Esper and recovered, she dedicated herself to become stronger.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Though she defeated Leora, it brought her no satisfaction, and she set out on a journey of self-discovery to find her true purpose.
* {{Foil}}: Thematically, to Leora. Elaine is a dark and aloof lady with dark colors, while Elaine is a bright and helpful lady with bright colors.
* ForcedSleep: She can inflict Sleep when attacking. On top of that, she's capable of keep the sleeping target sleeping if she's the one attacking.
* GamerChick: Loves to play the martial arts online game "Killer Heroes" and loves video games in general.
* PyrrhicVictory: She managed to defeat Leora when they had a falling out, but despite that being her dream to surpass her, it didn't bring Elaine any satisfaction whatsoever, prompting her to leave the Shadow Decree to find her true purpose.
* TheRival: She saw Leora as this when she became an Esper earlier than she did, which caused Elaine's jealousy to eat at her when Leora left and when Elaine became an Esper. Elaine trained hard to become stronger so she could one day defeat Leora and prove herself. However, [[UnknownRival Leora didn't see she was a rival]].
* ShrinkingViolet: Tang Xuan assumes that Elaine's lack of interaction with Leora isn't because she doesn't want to see Leora, but rather because she's shy about expressing her bottled-up feelings. It seems this is the case.
* SiblingTeam: Similarly to the Xie brothers, if Leora with ''War Goddess'' is in her team, her ''Night Goddess'' buff gets extended by an extra turn. However, this can get subverted if Leora is a foe, in which case Elaine gains ''Duskglow'', making her sleep-inducing attacks unable to be resisted by Leora.
* TheStoic: She used to be far more expressive among her former Shadow Decree colleagues until she became more devoid of emotions to protect her new image better. She barely emotes when hanging out with Leora, though she is expressive when she's alone.
* SweetTooth: She loves eating pound cake, though she says, perhaps out of embarrassment, that it was her favorite thing when she was a child.

* Norah has a variety of buffs up her sleeves, most of them connected to her basic attack. They are...
** Presto, which deals extra True Damage to Norah's target.
** Andante, which lowers the AP of Norah's target upon dealing damage.
** Largo, which dispels a buff from Norah's target.
** Halcyon Harmonic, which gets consumed whenever Norah casts an ability. When used, the cooldown for ''Hearing the Divine'' is reduced by one turn and one debuff is dispelled from each ally. Then, Norah attacks all enemies twice, dealing True Damage. Each hit has a chance to dispell one buff from its target.
* ''Tempo Trio'' attacks an enemy three times, dealing damage based on Norah's ATK. Norah will play a different song whenever this ability is cast, giving it different bonus effects. She plays Presto, Andante, and Largo in that order.
* ''Rainbow Rondo'' sees Norah quickly strum her harp. Any time an ally is hit before her next turn, there is a chance she will counterattack with ''Tempo Trio''. When ascended, she gains a stack of Halcyon Harmonic every three times ''Tempo Trio'' is cast.
* ''Hearing the Divine'' inflicts ATK Down on all enemies and extends their debuffs by one turn. Then, Norah attacks all enemies four times, dealing damage based on her ATK, with the last hit dealing extra True Damage. Norah cannot land critical hits, but every point of her ACC increases the amount of enemy DEF she ignores when attacking.

'''Role:''' Fighter

The head warden of Nether Gaol. He is feared by both inmates and subordinates alike due to [[JackBauerInterrogationTechnique his unethical, harsh interrogation methods]], which always yield the answers he seeks. He is a figher Esper who can deal True Damage through his unique ''Convict'' debuff and several unique buffs.

* Jin Qiu's unique buffs and debuffs are as follows:
** Punish Evil boosts his base ATK and DEF.
** Intimidate heals Jin Qiu when he does damage and gives him Shield before taking a hit.
** Convict deals True Damage to whoever is carrying it, and once per turn Jin Qiu's AP will increase when they take damage.
* ''Cleave'' deals True Damage to an enemy based on Jin Qiu's ATK and DEF. If Jin Qiu has Punish Evil, he attacks two more enemies and inflicts Convict. When ascended, if he has Intimidate, he dispells a debuff from himself and increases his AP.
* ''Pump Fatigue'' gives him Punish Evil. If his HP is below a certain amount, he also gains Intimidate. He then gets a bonus turn, and this ability's cooldown cannot be affected by other abilites.
* ''Just Retribution'' deals True Damage to all enemies based on his ATK and DEF. He also inflicts Convict, and each debuff on a target increases the damage of this ability. If a target's HP is below a certain percentage of their Max HP, they become stunned.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Tigers are the big one, thanks to Ru Shou having tiger claws and white fur on his body. His outfit also has some smaller animals to reference his patron deity; his snake hat and earring being the snake in Ru Shou's left ear, while his whip has the head of a dragon to reference the twin dragons Ru Shou rode on.
* BeastMan: His Esper powers turned him into a large tiger man.
* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: Carries a large shining green axe into battle, complementing his sadistic looks.
* TheCynic: He has his own policy on criminals (Once a crook, always a crook), believing that the path to redemption for criminals is almost entirely nonexistent. This is the reason why he has zero sympathy towards them.
* TheDreaded: Said to be the most feared warden of the Nether Gaol, and with how brutal he is it's easy to see why.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The trailer for ''Cellblock Chaos'' sees him grab an inmate by the head and squeeze him hard enough to make him cough up a Nexus Crystal he had swallowed, giving the audience a good idea of how he treats criminals.
* HeadbuttingHeroes: He greatly dislikes Amber for her more idealistic views on treating criminals, [[spoiler:though he secretly wishes her to never astray from her path lest she ends up becoming a big cynic like himself.]]
* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: His preferred method to get his interrogations done. It's said they always work, much to the horror of everyone who knows that much.
* LargeAndInCharge: He towers at 182 cm and is the head warden of Nether Gaol (by comparison, he's just 21 cm (8 inches) shorter than Javid; the tallest beast Esper).
* NeverBeHurtAgain: He was best friends with Guan Shan, but the latter was a crook who couldn't drop his criminal ways even though Jin Qiu offered him a way to lessen his sentence for the better. Guan Shan tried to attack Jin Qiu to trick him, forcing Jin Qiu to shoot him dead on his head. It was that experience that made Jin Qiu believe that all crooks could never stop being crooks, applying ruthless interrogations techniques on criminals.
* TheScapegoat: [[spoiler:Toland's escape forces him to take the whole blame for it while ensuring Amber's safety from being killed by toxic smoke. Even though he could have easily killed Toland alongside Amber by faking a story with no evidence, he didn't want an idealistic person like Amber to die because he sees potential in her to bring light to the prison.]]
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: His experiences with Guan Shan are what made him discard any idealistic ideas in favor of cynicism. [[spoiler:He does believe that idealistic people like Amber should never lose their idealism, though.]]
* SlasherSmile: He's fond of flashing his large fanged smirks.
* WhipOfDominance: His secondary weapon is a barbed wire that he likes to lash on criminals.

!!!'''Voiced By:''' Gary Yeung (English), Masahiro Itou (Japanese), Kim Sol (Korean)\\
'''Attribute:''' Wind\\
'''Rarity:''' Legendary\\
'''Role:''' Support

A lazy young man whose powers of divination have forced him to shoulder great responsibility. He is a support Esper who can provide allies with many random buffs through his many unique buffs.

* Feng Xun can provide the following unique status effects:
** Marsh Wind heals allies when they do damage, as well as having their basic abilities do extra damage.
** Heaven's Wheel gives one of three random bonuses (ATK Up, SPD Up, or C. DMG Up) to its carrier when they use an ability. If the ability in question is a basic attack, Feng Xun gains a stack of Far Journey.
** Far Journey is activated when an ally is stunned or put to sleep; if Feng Xun has two or more stacks, two stacks are consumed to wash the effect away. When Marsh Wind is active and an ally casts a basic attack, two stacks can be consumed to perform a pursuit attack with ''Draconic Roar''.
* ''Draconic Roar'' hits an enemy three times, dealing damage based on Feng Xun's ATK and Max HP. Each hit restores some health to the ally with the lowest HP percentage. While Marsh Wind is active, this ability is guaranteed to land a critical hit.
* ''Chakra Strike'' deals damage to all enemies based on Feng Xun's ATK and Max HP while inflicting DEF Down. While Marsh Wind is active, this ability is guaranteed to land a critical hit, as well as dealing extra damage based on Feng Xun's Max HP.
* ''One Harmony'' activates the Marsh Wind Zone and gives Feng Xun two stacks of Far Journey, while giving all allies Heaven's Wheel when a round starts. When ascended, Feng Xun will follow up with ''Chakra Strike''.
----
* AmbiguouslyRelated: To Feng Nuxi. They have the same surname, they're both associated with some kind of serpentine creature, and their deities are directly connected, being the creators of humanity from Chinese Myth. Any relationship they may have hasn't been elaborated on as of yet.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: He lives with three principles: never offend heaven or reason, never violate public order or morality...[[TheSlacker and never get up before 11]].
* BlessedWithSuck: He dislikes having the power of divination as that puts stress on him when learning about negative fates that can't be avoided.
* BrilliantButLazy: He's able to correctly predict the future as a result of his powers and is a good martial artist, but his voice lines make it evident that he'd rather be sleeping in than fortune telling.
* CombatClairvoyance: ''Inescapable Fate'' says that he often uses his powers to predict his opponent's next move so that he can find an escape route.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Stars in ''Inescapable Fate'', having predicted that Li Ling needed his help in investigating a series of child kidnappings.
* DragonsUpTheYinYang: He is able to manifest a purple Chinese dragon using his powers.
* {{Foil}}: To Yalina, in regards to [[spoiler:her wish to rewrite the past while he secretly yearned to change his future. However, Yalina suffers the consequences of not being able to ScrewDestiny, while Feng Xun wishes to avoid changing his future because it isn't worth it in the end.]]
* NeverBeHurtAgain: He had learned that his little sister Feng Ling was going to suffer at the hands of the Shadow Decree, though he actually foiled their kidnapping attempt. Unfortunately, they tried a second attempt, but Feng Ling fell down the stairs, causing her to fall into a coma for years. This caused Feng Xun to leave his family and avoid the pain to change bad fates.
* PerpetualPoverty: Becoming a wanderer really put a dent in his wallet that he often tries to get money on the side. He even participated (and won, anonymously) a drawing contest in Tangton because he was desperate for some cash. And yet, he's able to stay afloat somehow.
* SanitySlippage: He himself states that anyone who's not as adept in using divination as him can easily suffer high emotional trauma. He has trained himself to control his psyche to avoid getting dragged into these "trials" or else he may become too absorbed and go insane for it. [[spoiler:When Yalina wishes to take his power to ensure she can avoid disaster with her parents, she slowly goes insane with grief when she's unable to ScrewDestiny no matter how hard she tries because she's far too attached to changing the past to care about the present.]]
* ScrewDestiny: Defied. He believes all the fates he sees can't be changed no matter how hard they can be avoided.
* TheSlacker: He's described as a lazy man for a reason, preferring to sleep and not get up before 11.
* WalkingTheEarth: In shame, he deserted his family after his little sister fell into a coma when he had tried to save her from the Shadow Decree trying to blackmail him into joining their side.
* WeaksauceWeakness: His divination power doesn't work on non-living beings. [[spoiler:Yalina is quick to exploit said weakness when she attempts to kidnap him while she's remotely controlling a puppet that looked like her when she was little as a normal human.]]
* YearInsideHourOutside: When using divination, he's able to mentally experience all the paths laid out to him. He can actually experience days, weeks, and even years within these paths in the span of ''a few minutes'' outside his focus.

'''Role:''' Fighter

A former star of the Utgard arena who discarded her fighting days in search for a better easygoing life. Biondina is a fighter with spells that can shut down enemy buffs and then sweep them away with powerful water magic.

* Biondina has a unique buff called Aquatic Sentinal, which reduces the damage she takes from targets whose ATK is lower than hers.
* ''Tidal Wave'' damages an enemy based on Biondina's ATK and has a chance of inflicting Buff Blocker. If the target is unbuffed, Biondina deals extra damage.
* ''Tsunami'' gives Biondina Aquatic Sentinel at the start of combat. If she's not incapacitated when her turn starts, she passively dispels a buff from a random enemy, with a chance of dispelling a second, at the start of each turn. This ability prioritizes targets with buffs, and is guaranteed not to miss. When ascended, the chance to dispell a second buff becomes a chance to dispell all of the targets other buffs.
* ''Fury of the Waters'' targets and damages a single enemy while doing partial damage to all other enemies, damage being based on Biondina's ATK. This ability ignores all defenses of unbuffed targets, which is reduced for every buff an enemy has.
----
* ArmorPiercingAttack: ''Fury of the Waters'' ignores DEF, making it useful against tanks.
* BloodKnight: Formerly one until she got sick of Utgard's intrigue and oppressive nature.
* TheDreaded: She used to be a frightening opponent at the Utgard arena. Now, only glimpses of her formidable past show whenever she has to fight.
* MakingASplash: All of her attacks are water-themed, making use of crashing waves and such to slam into foes.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: As the host of Poseidon, she's been transformed into a silvery mermaid, with a tail that's ''several times'' the length of her torso. When attacking, she'll move up to enemies by slithering around.
* ProngsOfPoseidon: Her weapon is a trident, befitting the avatar of the sea god himself.
* StatusBuffDispel: Before she can act, her ''Tsunami'' passive dispels a random foe's buff (or 2, or all) without fail, making her a favorite to fight the Dark Star Lord.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: The main reason why she became a bounty hunter and left Utgard behind was because she couldn't stand how Alexa started to get manipulative of her.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Coconut water. She's often seen in line at trendy juice bars and is rumored to have traveled to all the coastal towns in Grandis to find the best coconut juice.
* UnwittingPawn: Dislikes being controlled even a bit that Alexa's controlling behavior drove her away from Alexa and out of Utgard. On top of this, she is also running away from her controlling family.
* WalkingTheEarth: As a wandering bounty hunter. She can suddenly just decide to go across the continent in a spur of the moment.
* WorthyOpponent: Mateo considers her one in a bounty story where the two wind up in a boxing match. Biondina doesn't return the sentiment at first until the end of the tale, when Mateo helps her fight off a few guys who were betting on the boxing match.

The scion and last surviving member by blood of House Ramses. He is on a path of vengeance to avenge his family's downfall. Previously Drew's protege. He is a fighter Esper who can protect one ally from certain death.

* ''Hookstrike'' deals damage to an enemy based on Ollie's ATK, with a chance of inflicting Silence.
* ''Salvific Judgements'' is a passive ability. When a teammate takes a fatal hit, Ollie will grant Salvific Judgements to prevent them from dying, granting them Invincibility and Recovery. He will follow this up by hitting the attacker with ''Law of Duat''.
* ''Law of Duat'' deals damage to an enemy based on Ollie's ATK, with bonus damage based on the target's Max HP. This attack taunts the target and inficts DEF Down, and when ascended it also grants Ollie Invincibility.
----
* ArmorOfInvincibility: When an ally receives fatal damage, he will protect them with ''Salvific Judgements'', give them invincibility and recovery, and he'll retaliate with ''Law of Duat''.
* BerserkButton: He dislikes Drew for failing to prevent the Gray Dust incident. [[spoiler:However, Ollie very much misses Drew and subconsciously left a sign trail that only Drew would pick up during the story mode. Ollie's episodes have him on friendly terms with Drew and actually worries about being rude to him.]]
* BigLittleBrother: His adopted sister Laura is older than him, but he's still the taller one.
* BrutalHonesty: In Swiftspace, Drew does his best to serve the best tea he can to Ollie. Ollie tells him that ''he hasn't improved,'' though Drew doesn't react badly and takes the comment to heart. On the other hand, Ollie's initial comment mentions that the tea was okay, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold only he becomes rude when being spoken to.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: During The Lone Star, his blind quest for revenge causes [[spoiler:Ray]] to be killed, becoming a wake-up call for Ollie to consider his revenge. [[spoiler:By the time his tale ends, he has come to understand Ray's guidance about protecting the people he has rather than prioritizing revenge. The lessons Ollie learned here are followed up into the story mode and his character episodes, where he is much less serious about his mission.]]
* CompanionCube: His Golden Barrel cacti Frosty, whom he gives special care.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Of The Lone Star event tale.
* GodOfTheDead: His powers are based on the Egyptian god of death Osiris. Ironically, Ollie's battle style revolves around ensuring his teammates and himself don't succumb to death.
* GuestStarPartyMember: After Chapter 4, he joins Brynn and Drew for several chapters before departing by Chapter 9. [[GameplayAndStorySegregation However, since he wasn't released when the main story came out, he doesn't join for battles as a real guest.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He pretends to be arrogant to hide his real feelings, and he actually cares much about what is happening to the world. And when helping people in need, he will not admit his desire to help them by redirecting the conversation with a sarcastic comment.
* MakingASpectacleOfYourself: The green glasses he wears [[spoiler:are just to help him look older.]]
* OlderThanHeLooks: Humorously, he's 20 years old, but he prefers to look older. [[spoiler:The fancy glasses he wears are just for cosmetic use and not because he's BlindWithoutEm.]]
* OnlyOneName: Averted. He's one of the few non-Chinese Espers to have a last name. His full name is Ollie Ramses, and he uses it as his [=SwiftSpace=] name.
* PromotedToPlayable: He was an [=NPC=] who appeared in the main story before becoming playable in the game's first post launch update.
* {{Revenge}}: His main goal in life is to avenge House Ramses by hunting down [[spoiler:Leon]] and bring him to justice.
* RuleOfSymbolism: Both of Ollie's hands are inexplicably a bright, almost sickly green, in contrast to his pale face. While it goes unexplained in universe, in terms of character design it's likely a reference to Osiris, who is often portrayed as having green skin since green is the colour of rebirth in Egyptian mythology.
* SeriousBusiness: Grilling, which he takes as a sacred art form. He will not hesitate to tell people to shut their mouths when he's on the grill.
* SociallyAwkwardHero: While growing up, Debia's members of the upper class never met his moral standards, and social gatherings with too many people tend to make him restless.
* SpoiledBrat: His luxurious life as the scion of House Ramses made him rather anti-social due to his stubborness and unwillingness to communicate, making people think of him as a spoiled child. Ironically, he doesn't like children like him.

The popular Destiny's Kiss idol sisterly trio, composed of Udanya (oldest), Vanessa (middle), and Sandrine (youngest). Together, they're support Espers who can reduce foes' AP and speed up their allies.

* ''Heart Beam'' deals damage to an enemy based on the Sisters' ATK, and has a chance to reduce their AP.
* ''Sparkling Stage'' dispells all debuffs from an ally, while healing and granting SPD UP the party. The amount of healing is based on the Max HP of the ally having their debuffs removed. When ascended, the aforementioned ally will be granted Invincibility in addition to being cleansed.
* ''Trio of Destiny'' attacks all enemies two times, dealing damage based on the Sisters' ATK. It also reduces the enemy party's AP and has a chance to inflict Miss Rate Up while granting DEF Up to all allies. If an enemy's SPD is lower than the Sisters', then their AP is reduced further per hit.

* CurtainsMatchTheWindows: The color of their eyes all match their main colors. Doubles as ExoticEyeDesigns.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Both Udanya and Sandrine are kidnapped by Kara, who's attempting to experiment on them.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Of the Dreams Afar event, where they attempt to ScrewDestiny to avoid disaster before their show.
* DreamingOfThingsToCome: During their event, each one of them experiences a prophetic dream in the same night, all of the dreams featuring disaster after disaster (Udanya dreamed about Vanessa falling down a flight of stairs, Sandrine dreamed about a black van crashing into their car, and Vanessa dreamed about Udanya dropped on the floor with a dagger through her chest, pleading them to escape). After the first two dreams occur, they fear for Udanya's safety and believe that their dreams were warnings connected to each other ([[spoiler:though only the second dream turns out to be unrelated to the kidnapper]]). Their last dream [[spoiler:turns out to be not quite the whole truth: when they get trapped by Kara, Udanya uses the fake prop knife gotten from their worried fan and "stabs" herself to pretend that she killed herself and sends her power with Sandrine's to Vanessa to make it look like their Esper powers are disappearing so their Esper-detecting bracelets alert Kara into opening their cage. * IdolSinger: The sisters are a trio of pop idols called Destiny's Kiss.
* MeaningfulName: The first initial of each sister's name matches up with the corresponding Norn of Norse Mythology; '''U'''danya and '''U'''rðr, '''V'''anessa and '''V'''erðandi, and '''S'''andrine and '''S'''kuld.
* MiddleChildSyndrome: Vanessa believes herself to be this when comparing herself to her sisters. Udanya is the smart one, Sandrine loves to take the initiative, but she feels she lacks anything noteworthy. Meredith convinces her than she's able to notice things that the other two don't notice. [[spoiler:This becomes crucial in helping Vanessa track down her kidnapped sisters at the Shadow Decree's Pluto Research Lab.]] She's loved by her mother as equally as her sisters, though.
* SiblingTeam: As the Espers of the three fates of Norse Mythology, the sisters are the only Espers who work as a trio. Functionally, they act as one Esper in battles.
* TabloidMelodrama: The sisters are almost always dealing with fishy tabloids trying to cast falsehoods out of anything that can be remotely spun into a controversy. After Udanya kindly put up a post that nothing like breaking up their trio was going to happen, the tabloid writers still ended up spinning that story. [[TranquilFury Cue Udanya crumbling up the tabloid into pieces, rolling up her sleeves, and walking out of the house in a huff.]]
* YouCantFightFate: Their powers allow them to predict the future through dreams. All of them are stylized after the three Norn goddesses of Norse mythology who rule over the destiny of gods and men: Urðr (Wyrd), Verðandi, and Skuld.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Their profile lists them as 18, but they look young enough to be high schoolers.
* UnwantedGiftPlot: They used to get different presents for their shared birthday, which resulted in them fighting each other for not having the gift of another sister's, so they convinced her mother to just give them all the same gift with cosmetic differences. Flashforward to the present, they dislike how they all get the same gifts (they forgot their arrangement) and decide to ask for different gifts each by writing what they wanted in separate notes (that they didn't write their names on). Even after her mother got the notes scrambled by accident while on the streets, ''[[EpicFail they all ended up asking for the same gift]]'' (Ahmed's latest music album, which is nearly sold out).
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Sandrine is a courageous little girl who's not afraid to kick scummy adults, though she practically panics at the sight of a little cockroach (and remains in shock for a little while after it's dealt with).
* WoundedGazelleGambit: [[spoiler:Vanessa's dream of seeing Udanya bleeding on the floor with a knife stabbed through her chest is actually a fake wound Udanya pretends to inflict of herself to lure a desperate Kara into opening their cage and get attacked by the sisters for a chance to escape.]]

* Valeria has two unique buffs: Snake Shape, which increases the damage of her basic ability, and Power Reserve, which reduces any damage taken and disappears upon being attacked.
* ''Launching Tide'' deals damage to an enemy based on Valeria's ATK, with a chance to lower enemy AP. Each point of Valeria's SPD increases the damage.

* TheReliableOne: She's quick to act when help is needed among her crewmembers.
* SpectacularSpinning: She likes to spin and even admits loving it.
* VaporWear: Her large breasts are braless but are always covered by two strings of ornaments that cover them even when she's always facing high turbulence from her bird-like appearance.

* DreamingOfThingsToCome: She constantly dreams and relieves events of what will happen on the same day, which makes her want to find the solution to avert disaster. [[spoiler:All of this is willingly from her wishes to keep Accro "alive" in her memories.]]
* ForcedSleep: [[spoiler:It turns out she placed herself in a dream of the last two days of ''Endless Summer''.]]
* GroundhogDayLoop: Her story event involves herself somehow being stuck in a time loop that keeps repeating the same day when the Cube Miracle rose from the sea and destroyed her home city and took everyone away, leading her to find a way to prevent the disaster and save her mother. [[spoiler:Though she seemingly succeeds in saving the town and her mother, it's later revealed that she's stuck relieving the same day with slight differences, while the town is presently in ruins while shielded by her huge conch shell. It's ''later'' revealed that she placed ''herself'' in a ForcedSleep / LotusEaterMachine.]]
* {{Hikikomori}}: A ''very'' bizarre example due to [[spoiler:trapping all of Accro's deceased souls inside a giant magic conch shell that kept her and the souls within a LotusEaterMachine of her own making that she refused to dispel because she didn't want to come to terms with her mother being dead.]] This takes cues from the Chinese dragon Jiao Tu, who used to live behind high walls and refused to leave unless force was used [[spoiler:which is exactly what happens to Lian when Hilda fights her to release Accro's souls free]], and how the dragon liked to close things and keep them shut.
* LotusEaterMachine: [[spoiler:She willingly created one to trap the souls of all of Accro's residents to keep relieving the two days prior Accro becoming ravaged by the Cube Miracle ''for 13 years'', believing that it's better for them to stay alive in ''some'' way.]]
* OddNameOut: She's the only Chinese Esper whose last name isn't stated anywhere.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Unlike the many examples from other Espers, [[spoiler:she looks the same as she did when she was 18 years old, when she should be 13 years older than ''that.'' It's also implied that she's still 18 after she comes to terms with the death of her mother and friends.]]
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:She was the only survivor of her home when the Cube Miracle rose from the sea.]]
* TragicMonster: [[spoiler:When she's confronted inside her conch shell dome by Hilda and Tevor, she appears as a creepy ghostly version of her real self. She gets better when she's defeated.]]
* VagueAge: While her Esper bio lists her as being 18, [[spoiler:it's revealed in ''Warm Winter'' that that's how old she was when the Cube Miracle descended on her home, as well as how old she was during the events of her time loop in ''Endless Summer''. ''Warm Winter'' also reveals that she's been in this loop for ''13 years,'' meaning she should be 31 by now, but after Hilda gets her to leave her world behind she still looks and sounds like a teenager, so it's unclear how old she's supposed to be now.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler:The details behind what really happened at Accro is full of big spoilers that goes beyond the reason why she's in a GroundhogDayLoop.]]

A mysterious girl who warns Lian about the Cube Miracle disaster that will ravage her hometown, she is an undertaker who arranges funerals for the departed. She debuted first in ''Endless Summer'' before her proper introduction in ''Warm Winter.''

* Hilda has a unique buff called Deep Sleep, which, rather than actually buffing Hilda, inflicts Poison and Sleep at the start of any enemy's turn.
* ''Sleep Tight'' deals damage to an enemy based on a mix of Hilda's ATK and DEF. This ability inflicts Sleep and extends the duration of all other debuffs on the target by one turn.
* ''Delirium'' deals damage to all enemies based on a mix of Hilda's ATK and DEF. It inflicts SPD Down, two Poison effects, and when ascended, Sleep. Also when ascended, the duration of the Poison is extended by one turn.
* ''Dream, Interrupted'' gives Hilda the Deep Sleep buff, then deals damage to all enemies based on a mix of Hilda's ATK and DEF. It inflicts DEF Down and two Poison effects, and if an enemy's DEF is lower than her's, they get two extra stacks of Poison. This ability also comes with a passive effect; Hilda's base DEF scales with her ACC, and if her target's ACC is lower than hers, her debuffs won't miss.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: When she was a child, she was ostracized by other children, who described her as a bug who grew inside a corpse.
* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: She sees death as something to ''look'' forward to, because she was taught that death is simply a new beginning rather than an end.
* CreepyChild: When she first debuted, she appears creepy girl with pale skin, always appears with a black cat around, and just shows up out of nowhere. [[spoiler:Though that was mostly Lian's perception of Hilda when Hilda was younger. In truth, Hilda appears more womanly-like in the present, and the cat that followed her around then was just Tevor, whose appearance was turned into that of a normal cat because Lian's dream turned him like that.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: She stars in the ''Warm Winter'' event, where she performs several funerals for other people that culminate in [[spoiler:trying to wake Lian from her ForcedSleep.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: She debuts in ''Endless Summer'' before her release in ''Warm Winter''.
* FlowerMotifs: Has a thing for Valerians and Thorn Brambles.
* {{Foil}}: To Li Guang. Hilda is a quiet woman who is more in tune with the night and sleep, while Li Guang is a cheerful, sunny person, if somewhat loud. When they meet in ''Sea of Song,'' Hilda is often annoyed by Li Guang's personality.
* ForcedSleep: Her powers allow her to put people to sleep, which derive from the greek god of sleep Hypnos.
* GaveUpTooSoon: When she was younger, she had arranged to meet up with her dad at Accro, but he was running a whole day late to meeting her there that she got frustrated and left the city before he arrived there that same night.
* PoisonousPerson: Most of her skills involve inflicting several stacks of poison on top of putting enemies to sleep.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: She shows up in ''Sea and Song'' to reveal to Li Guang that the tsunami that almost took her out had been stopped by someone's powers (Norah), and then later assists her in helping Norah out from her emotional distress regarding her friend's paintings that she threw at sea (though Li Guang's impulsiveness annoys Hilda).
* TheStoic: As part of her job, she must stay as emotionless as she can to properly deliver speeches. She does display other emotions, though. [[spoiler:When she wants Lian to stop the LotusEaterMachine, she outright is ''enraged'' and shouts at her to let go of the souls she's keeping captive in her LotusEaterMachine. Later on, at the end, she's able to smile and laugh with Hailey.]]
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: When she found her father killed by Miramon, it was at that time that her Esper powers awoke.
* WalkingTheEarth: She likes to travel around Gyrate in her van and offer her undertaker services to people who need funerals.

Valeria's twin brother, who was once wheelchair-bound until his Esper transformation turned him into a beastial canine Esper suffering from bouts of rampage and short-term memory loss. He was introduced in ''Devouring Beast'' and made playable in ''Sea Breeze'', where he's doing a lot better and travelling with his sister. He is a Defender Esper who can heal, buff, and even revive allies while taking advantage of his team's basic attacks.

* Liam's unique buffs are as follows:
** Gemini increases his SPD and DEF. It's stackable and won't be removed in subsequent rounds.
** Haven increases his DEF. When actively casting ''Life Slash'', he calls in an ally with Vigilant to cast their basic ability as a follow-up.
** Vigilant increases the carrier's ATK. When actively casting their basic ability, Liam will follow up with ''Life Slash''.
* ''Life Slash'' hits an enemy twice, dealing damage based on Liam's ATK and DEF. He reduces the target's Max HP ceiling and heals the ally with the lowest HP.
* ''Berserk'' is a passive ability that increases Liam's C. RATE. When Liam or his allies cast a basic attack, he gains a stack of Gemini. Once per battle, Liam will revive an ally with some of their HP when he kills an enemy.
* ''Bloody Lament'' grants C. DMG Up to Liam and the ally with the highest ATK. Both of them have their debuffs dispelled, and Liam gains Haven while the ally gains Vigilant. This ability's cooldown cannot be manipulated, and when ascended Liam gains a bonus turn after using this ability.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: He disgusted people by his mishaped legs when he was a child before he transformed. When he transformed, the disgust turned into fear for his abominable appearance and bouts of rampage.
* BeastMan: He's a large bipedal dog Esper, taking cues from the Aztec god Xolotl, who was depicted with the head of a dog.
* TheBigGuy: Though he may appear much taller because of his long legs, he's actually a few centimeters shorter than Javid; the tallest beast Esper. Still, Liam is the second tallest beast Esper.
* BirdsOfAFeather: He's able to relate to Q when the latter relates the ramifications of his appearance changing and affecting his whole life.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler:Sweeter than bitter. Feng Nuxi is able to come up with a way to at least keep his sanity in check rather than attempting to reverse his Esper transformation, though the method can still backfire and has to have him be away from civilization for when it's time to take his medicine. Not that this is any bad to him, because he and Valeria can just go seafaring and collect sizeable bounties to keep themselves fine.]]
* BreakingOldTrends:
** Alongside Alolin, he's the first beast Esper who's not of the Inferno attribute.
** He's also the first Legendary Flow Defender since ''Donar'', who was introduced during the game's beta tests and part of the cast at launch.
* ContrivedCoincidence: His name is just ''one'' letter away of being mistaken with Lia''n'', who's another flow Esper with ties to the ocean.
* CovertPervert: In one of Valeria's Swiftspace posts, she asks people what to do for a video promoting their seavoyager team. What does Liam suggest?
-->'''Liam''': Girls!
* DarkIsNotEvil: You have to squint ''really'' hard for this one, but this crazed, huge, muzzled canine with the hair and weapon with living eyes is ''not'' a bad guy, just suffers from bouts of rampage.
* DelicateAndSickly: He used to be a frail boy who used to have crippled mishaped legs, bounding him to a wheelchair. He got all better when he became an Esper, at the cost of losing his sanity over and over.
* DownerEnding: Multiple ones:
** [[spoiler:Should Brynn and Q arrest Valeria, Liam continues to be a rampaging threat to Graywater, and Fu Shi continues to manipulate him for his experiments.]]
** [[spoiler:Should Brynn decline to put a stop to him, Liam becomes sick with the guilt of causing mayhem and injuring Valeria that he fatally stabs his own chest and dies.]]
* EpicFail: Knowing how competitive his sister is, he tried to hide his Swiftspace post about learning how to make it look it she could win against him at chess, except he chose the wrong settings and ended up notifying her ''directly'' about it.
* HiddenDepths: He's surprisingly good at chess, unlike his sister, who can't sit still.
* NiceGuy: He's the Guard Captain of the Flyingplume Voyageurs, looking out after other sailors facing troubles while voyaging.
* PromotedToPlayable: He was originally introduced as an NPC and event boss in ''Devouring Beast'' back in July 2023. Come November of the same year and he finally makes his playable debut.
* RageBreakingPoint: [[spoiler:When he sees the villagers injuring his sister, he goes nuts and nearly succumbs to his madness unless either he takes his own life while sane enough, or Brynn and Q manage to stall for time enough for Raven and Feng Nuxi to arrive and stop him.]]
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He used to look very similar to his sister when they were younger, but now, the only passing resemblance they share is the color of their pink human hair.
* TragicMonster: Due to his Esper powers exceeding their output of Divine Waves, he's unable to control his mind and goes on rampages unless he's treated. [[spoiler:Thanks to Feng Nuxi developing a way to weaken the Esper power in him to keep him sane, he's able to live a stable enough life with Valeria by releasing Divine Waves in safe places.]]

A rude, loud, reckless, boisterous, alcoholic, hyperactive, trigger-happy, amnesiac, energetic, son of a gun bounty hunter, cannon-tuttin' dog from Graywater, and Lu Yi's partner (unfortunately). He is a fighter Esper who enjoys sowing chaos with additional explosive follow-ups.

* ''Hahaha!'' deals damage to an enemy based on Brewster's attack, with a chance to inflict DEF Down.
* ''Fast & Furious'' deals damage to an enemy based on Brewster's ATK and stuns them. Upon a successful stun, he gains Reload! Attack!. This lets him assist with ally attacks using ''In Your Dreams!'', and his next attack will heal him for a percentage of his damage while also transferring his debuffs to his target. While attacking, he gains AP based on how many stacks of Reload! Attack! he has (can have a max of 6). If he does not successfully stun his target, ''Fast & Furious'' does extra damage.
* ''Eat This!'' deals damage to an enemy bsed on Brewster's ATK and grants him some stacks of Reload! Attack!. This attack inflicts Buff Blocker, and if it lands a critical hit, erases the target's AP. When ascended, this ability gives C. Rate UP to the whole party.
----
* AnimalMotifs: The dog, which is in line to the Norse dog god of destruction Garmr, which is associated with Fenrir (of which Freddy is based from).
* TheAlcoholic: Loves his beer very much. His side event even has drinking beer as a way for him to relieve stress. [[spoiler:It turns out it's the only characteristic of his that got carried over after he was transformed into an Esper by force.]]
* BeYourself: [[spoiler:Upon learning about his fast, Brewster comes to terms with his sad backstory by recalling Lu Yi's words that it doesn't matter what people think of it. He's okay with learning about it anyway, but he chooses to be his Esper self and be proud of it.]]
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: To Lu Yi, who gave him aid after Brewster fled from the Shadow Decree lab. This makes Lu Yi Brewster's OnlyFriend.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Of all people, with [[spoiler:Sieg]], who also EscapedFromTheLab and has no memory of his past prior [[spoiler:meeting Brynn]].
* ChickMagnet: Due to his looks, he often gets the attention of many young ladies. Then he starts...being himself, and everything falls apart. Not that he cares any, though.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:To his disappointment when he finds out, he was just a washed out person whose mother died, and he was abused by his alcoholic father, who drove him to being TheAlcoholic. Even worse, his father sold him out to the Shadow Decree behind his back for some quick cash allegedly.]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Stars in the Desperado side tale.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Since he is a dog, he is deathly allergic to chocolate.
* EscapedFromTheLab: He was experimented on in a Shadow Decree lab, but escaped. The Desperado event story sees him and [[spoiler:Sieg return to that lab to rescue Lu Yi and learn more about Brewster's past.]]
* HairTriggerTemper: He can get angry at people very quickly if he's stressed out or just finds them annoying. In the Desperado event, his temper is turned into a gameplay mechanic if the player explores the Memory Maze for too long. [[spoiler:It turns out his short temper was a side effect caused by his forced Esper transformation, next to his LaserGuidedAmnesia.]]
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: Brewster wears a pilot cap and an orange jacket, but completely lacks bottom clothing and footwear.
* IgnoranceIsBliss: A wealthy young girl manages to convince him to wear clothing specially made for him in exchange of buying all the beer he wants. Obviously, Brewster accepts the offer and enjoys a lavish time until Lu Yi sees him wearing bunny ears, despite the fact Brewster had said before realizing that he was showing off his new look.
* {{Jerkass}}: He barely cares about making Lu Yi collateral damage to his reckless bombing, though Brewster really takes the cake when [[spoiler:Lu Yi is kidnapped by Djoser, because Brewster was annoyed by Lu Yi insisting on helping him learn about his past before he fled the Shadow Decree. Instead of immediately going after Lu Yi, Brewster brushes off the event and wastes his time [[DrowningMySorrows drowning his sorrows]] at his favorite bar before he has to get kicked out by security and lectured by Sieg to change his mind about rescuing Lu Yi.]]
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: He can't remember anything before he was experimented by the Shadow Decree, not even his real name.
* LaughingMad: His voice lines are full of hyperactive cackling. Even the name of his basic attack is just "Hahaha!" (though it was called ''"In Your Dreams!"'' for some time after his release before it was changed back).
* MadBomber: More reckless and impulsive than actually crazy, but he's still obsessed with blowing things up.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Brewster doesn't remember what his real name is, and "Brewster the Blaster" is a name that was given to him by other bounty hunters.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: He's one of the tiniest Espers in the game, but he's powerful and destructive with a [[HairTriggerTemper very hot temper]].
* RedOniBlueOni: The (extreme) red oni to Lu Yi's blue.
* RocketRide: Frequently seen riding around on his rocket cannon like it's some kind of hoverboard.
* StuffBlowingUp: His favorite answer to anything that annoys him.
* TranquilFury: After he spent three months helping out Alice in obtaining ingredients specifically hard to get, he is very obviously seething when he finds out that Alice's experiment turned out to be [[spoiler:a piece of chocolate, which he's allergic to]]. He calmly responds by blowing it up in the air.
* UngratefulBastard: It was Lu Yi who helped Brewster out after the latter had escaped the Shadow Decree. And yet, [[spoiler:when Lu Yi is kidnapped, Brewster decides to go drink himself under the table rather than go rescue Lu Yi because Brewster wasn't happy about Lu Yi insisting on helping him recover his lost memories by infiltrating the Shadow Decree. '''Role''': Support

A wandering archaeologist and old friend of Narmer's. He may seem timid, but he has a keen sense of judgement and determination, and is an accomplished researcher whose work is frequently referenced by Miracle researchers.

* ''Word Launch'' deals damage to an enemy based on Cang Ji's ATK and DEF, with a chance t inflict Diseased. This attack deals extra True Damage to the non-boss enemy with the highest Max HP. True Damage is based on the enemy's Max HP, and can't go higher than a percentage of Cang Ji's DEF.
* ''Definitive Form'' deals damage to all enemies based on Cang Ji's ATK and DEF, and has a chance to stun. If an enemy does not get stunned, then their buffs are dispelled and there's a chance to reduce their AP. Each point of SPD gives this attack extra damage, based on Cang Ji's DEF.
* ''Cosmos Writing'' lets Cang Ji select an ally. If the HP percentage of the non-boss enemy with the highest of said stat is above that of the selected ally, then the ally's HP percentage is raised to match the enemy's. Then, Cang Ji deals damage to all enemies based on his DEF, and the greater the enemy Max HP, the greater the damage. When ascended, the selected ally will also have their AP raised to match that of the non-boss enemy with the highest AP should it be higher than theirs. The HP percentage and AP increases do not work on bosses, and they are not regarded as healing or a standard AP increase.
----
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: In appearance only, however. He's ''37''.
* AdventurerArchaeologist: Zigzagged. He is very clearly an academical archaeologist like real life ones, though having Esper powers gives him the "adventurer" role.
* BlessedWithSuck: He speculates that his Esper powers affect his blindness by changing its affliction so much that he has to change into different lenses to solve the issue before having to repeat the process all over again.
* BlindWithoutEm: He needs to use glasses. In fact, he has dozens of lenses in his box, and each pair of them have different specifics. He mentions that his blindess tends to fluctuate into different levels, which he speculates it is because of his Esper powers.
* HeroicBSOD: When his father had died during an expedition, he became shut off from the world and didn't want to explore, though the thrill to explore the unknown teased him that he slowly came out of his shell and regained his passion.
* MeaningfulName: [[CaptainObvious It rather obviously draws upon the divine powers from which they are named from]] except by one letter of difference.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He may look and sound like a young boy, but he's actually ''37 years old.''
* RunningGag: His boyish appearance is often brought up in his episodes, with kids thinking he's Alice's apprentice to wondering why a "kid" like him is a professional archaeologist.
* UniversalEyeglasses: Averted. He gets a special set of glasses from Meredith that has multiple uses and can help his changing vision issues by automatically changing by themselves. However, they're only for exploration purposes, because otherwise their functions come across as too bothersome when used for daily life.
* VisualPun: Albeit a mildly insulting one. The legendary figure Cang Jie was said to be a historian with four eyes. The glasses-wearing Esper Cang Ji is also a historian (an archaeologist), and people with glasses are often mockingly called "four-eyed".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: His introduction post on social media mentions that his biggest fear is snakes.

He is a stoic man who ensures he follow true justice, even if it can be perceived in a bad light. He is a fighter Esper who can exploit his unique ''Judgement Seal'' debuff to deal splash damage on random targets.

* Javid has a unique buff and debuff at his disposal. They are...
** Sacred Flame, his buff. Before he attacks, Javid dispells all damage overtime effects from himself, including Poison and Bleed. He deals extra damage based on the number of DoT effects dispelled, based on his ATK.
** Judgement Seal, his debuff. When an enemy with this debuff is hit, splash damage is dealt to two other random enemies, with the damage being based on their Max HP.
* ''Divine Wrath'' deals damage to an enemy based on Javid's ATK and inflicts DEF Down. If the target has Judgement Seal and any other debuff, another random enemy takes splash damage.
* ''Divine Might'' deals damage to all enemies based on Javid's ATK and inflicts Sear. He also deals extra True Damage to targets with Judgement Seal, based on their Max HP. Javid's AP increases if he lands a Critical Hit (different targets calculated independently).
* ''Eternal Light'' gives Javid Sacred Flame while the enemy party gets Judgement Seal. Then Javid attacks one enemy first, dealing damage based on his ATK and inflicting Diseased, and then he attacks the whole enemy party. * IDidWhatIHadToDo: [[spoiler:He knew full well he'd been seen as a coward and a criminal for his act to lure the Miramon away from Mylo and have his men sacrifice themselves to save the surviving children, but he did so to avert even greater disaster.]]
* InterfaceScrew: At the beginning ''Sands of Guilt'', when Javid knocks out Tang Xuan and leaves him in the desert, he also takes Tang Xuan's phone from him. This actually leaves the player unable to access the phone from the story map until the end of Act 2, when the phone is retunred.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though he's strict with his subordinates, he likes to give them anonymous gifts by their bedsides and pretend it wasn't him when asked if he sent them.
* MrFanservice: He's the biggest Esper, he's muscular, and his Esper trailer showed him shirtless while chained up in prison. All the ingredients.
* PowerLimiter: [[spoiler:He doesn't have one, he ''is'' one for the Withering Miracle. Even after escaping, he kept the role and took down the Raging Lion - the guardian of the Lion's Heart - by leading it away from New Mylo.]]
* ThePowerOfTheSun: His Esper powers are largely based around the sun and light, which is in line with Shamash being the Mesopotamian god of justice and the sun.
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler:Did so in the past and survived at great cost. In the present, it's rather unclear if he survived his final bout against the Raging Lion, though.]]
* TheStoic: He's incredibly unflappable and hard to change his blank mood.

** Floral Barrier, which absorbs damage equal to some of Sakura's Max HP while also increasing her damage and healing. This buff can stack up to ten times.
** Vigor Guard, which blocks a control effect and can stack up to three times.
* ''Delicate Pruning'' deals damage to an enemy based on Sakura's Max HP. The target has their Max HP Capacity reduced based on a portion of the damage dealt, and Sakura gains two stacks of Floral Barrier. When ascended, a random ally gets a stack of Vigor Guard.
* ''Shared Fate'' dispells all debuffs from an ally and gives them three stacks of Vigor Guard. Then, all allies are healed for an amount equal to some of Sakura's Max HP. All teammates will also take less damage as a passive effect.
* ''Sakura Splendor'' grants DEF Up, ATK Up, and a stack of Vigor Guard to all allies. Then, Sakura attacks all enemies, dealing damage based on her Max HP and reducing enemy Max HP Capacity based on the damage dealt. After attacking, Sakura dispells all her debuffs, heals herself, and gains five stacks of Floral Barrier.
----
* AbusiveParents: Her mother was overly critical of her training to achieve beauty that it broke her. When she awoke to her Esper powers, [[spoiler:Sakura fell into deep end and used her own mother as fertilizer to empower her looks.]]
* BodyHorror: The long coat of cherry blossoms hanging by her left arm is ''not'' a coat but ''her actual mutated arm'' which she uses to drain energy from her targets.
* CherryBlossomGirl: Everything about her, including her appearance, abilities, name, and even the name of the version she was released in is themed around charry blossoms. It's all thanks to her deity, the Japanese blossom princess and goddess of Mount Fuji Konohanasakuya-hime.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Stars in the ''Cherry Blossoms'' story event [[spoiler:as its BigBad kidnapping people wandering around the Graywater Plains to use them as "fertilizer" to maintain her looks.]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:In the same story event she debuts, hysteric from seeing her cherry blossom tree burning, she willingly tosses herself to her mother's corpse and burns down with her.]]
* {{Matricide}}: [[spoiler:She killed her own mother by turning her into a living resource to keep her own beauty.]]
* ThePerfectionist: She strives to become a flawless person who can keep her beautiful looks and believes she's become one thanks to her Esper powers allowing her to [[spoiler:kidnap innocent people and sap their vitality - including her own mother - to remain beautiful.]]
* TheRightHandOfDoom: Her left arm is positively monstrous to the point where it looks like a tree trunk with roots. She somehow manages to get a jacket on over it, though.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:Her harsh upbringing with her mother caused her to lose her sanity. Becoming an Esper pushed her off the edge that she essentially killed her mother to maintain her beauty. And to drive it home, when Tevor cuts down her cherry blossom tree and releases her mother's corpse amidst flames, Sakura loses it even more and goes to embrace her mother, burning to death for it. Tevor can only come to the conclusion that Sakura became too insane by then.]]
* WellDoneDaughterGirl: She has a desperate need for her mother to acknowledge her to be perfect. [[spoiler:Upon hitting her SanitySlippage, she truly believed that it was best to turn her mother into a living source to empower her beauty and being "close" to her while being stuck in her cherry blossom tree.]]

!!!'''Voiced By:''' Mike Rad (English), Creator/RyoheiKimura (Japanese), Choi Nak-yoon (Korean)\\
'''Attribute''': Shimmer\\
'''Rarity''': Legendary\\
'''Role''': Support

A gentle bounty hunter known as the Healing Wind who uses his powers to help those in need. He is a support Esper who can speed up allies by giving them extra [=AP=] and make himself faster with his unique ''Haste'' buff.

* Unas' unique Haste buff grants him 30 SPD per stack, and he can have up to three stacks. A stack is dispelled upon attacking.
* ''Follow the Wind'' attacks an enemy 3 times, dealing damage based on Unas' ATK. He has a chance to inflict DEF Down, and every 10 SPD grants extra damage.
* ''Zephyrus'' is a passive ability. At the end of Unas' turn, if he is able to take action, he grants Immunity to the whole party except himself. When ascended, at the end of an enemy's turn, he gains a stack of Haste.
* ''Gale Force'' attacks all enemies, dealing damage based on Unas' ATK. Every 10 SPD deals extra damage, and the whole party is treated to an AP boost.
----
* AchillesHeel: Unas is all about increasing speed and hitting fast, and his passive ''Zephyrus'' is only able to work if he can still act at the end of his turn ''and'' it's the only way he can gain his Haste buff. As a result of this, Espers that can stun, freeze, or otherwise incapacitate him are really good at shutting him down, as are Espers with speed lowering abilities.
* BattleCouple: He fights alongside the spirit of his deceased wife.
* BrokenBird: The death of his wife caused him to become withdrawn from people, until he awakened to his Esper powers and he traveled with Biondina, which helped him to come out of his shell and become a different man from what he used to be.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He doesn't like talking about the significance behind the spirit of his ex-lover.
* FragileSpeedster: His main utility is to increase the speed of his allies' actions while buffing his own. That being said, he can still be made to endure.
* NiceGuy: He likes to help any people in need and doesn't focus on the big picture but rather the little problems.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He looks fairly youthful for a 42-year-old.
* OrderVersusChaos: Once his wife died, the power struggle between the Esper Union and the Shadow Decree mattered little to him that he became fully neutral. However, his travels with Biondina had convinced him to be a force of good, albeit alone.

'''Attribute:''' Shimmer\\
'''Rarity:''' Legendary\\
'''Role:''' Support

The defense commander of Raine's wall, and former colleague to Mateo. She's described as a flawless strategist, whose efforts have made Utgard an "indestructible paradise". She is a support Esper with a wide selection of unique buffs at her disposal.

* Xuan Pin has an impressive ''five'' unique buffs, the most of any Esper. They are...
** Cannon, which ignores a portion of the target's DEF when doing damage. When this effect expires, its carrier is Stunned.
** Chariot, which grants extra ATK and SPD. When this effect expires, the carrier gains the Soldier buff.
** Horse, which amplifies damage the carrier deals. The higher the target's Max HP, the more the damage is amplified. This effect doesn't work if the target has an elemental advantage.
** Soldier, which adds some ATK for every stack of it. Gain five stacks, and this buff turns into the Chariot buff. If the carrier has General or Chariot, they cannot have Soldier.
** General, which can only be held by Xuan Pin. This buff calls in one random ally with the Soldier buff to assist whenever Xuan Pin does damage, and then gives them another stack of Soldier. When Xuan Pin dies, the ally is cleared of all of the other four buffs.
* ''Strategic Pieces'' deals damage to an enemy based on Xuan Pin's ATK. Any allies with Horse and Chariot gain some AP.
* ''Heavy Cannonade'' lets you select an ally to give Cannon to, as well as a large amount of AP. Then, Xuan Pin deals damage to all enemies based on her ATK, inflicting DEF Down and dispelling any Shields.
* ''Checkmate'' grants a stack of Soldier to all allies, and Horse to the two allies with the highest ATK. Then, Xuan Pin attacks all enemies, dealing regular damage based on her ATK, True Damage based on the enemies' Max HP, and inflicting Miss Rate Up. At the start of a fight, Xuan Pin gains General, and all her allies get a stack of Soldier. When ascended, all allies gain ATK Up in addition to Soldier when Xuan Pin uses this ability.
----
* ChessMotifs: Her character is themed around the game xiangqi, also known as elephant chess, which is China's most popular board game. Her unique buffs are even named after some of the pieces from the game.
* CovertPervert: During the second story mode, she shows off her ability to draw fast but incredibly realistic drawings, though for some reason, the drawings she shows off are ''all'' about Mateo (one of them was even of him working out [[WalkingShirtlessScene shirtless]]). Though her audience wondes why they're all about Mateo, they don't question the shirtless drawing. She still gets a bit defensive about the subject, though.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Of the ''Immortal Fire'' story event, when Mateo used to be the defense commander of Raine's Wall.
* HiddenDepths: She's a superb artist who can draw very realistic drawings in a matter of seconds.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's 26, but her short stature and youthful face make her look like a teenager.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: She is the Defense Commander of Raine's Wall in Utgard known for being an expert strategist, and she's also a very skilled chess player. She's never lost a single game, with the only person coming close to beating her being Mateo.

'''Role:''' Fighter

Norah's friend when she was a teenager, who came to Estero Harbor from Gemstone Bay. An aspiring painter who was color blind. She made her debut as a major NPC in ''Sea and Song'' before becoming playable. She is a Fighter Esper with buffs designed to protect her and keep her alive.

* Anna has two unique buffs. They are...
** Rainbow Shield. In addition to being immune to petrification, Anna will consume one stack of this buff to block the first hit of an incoming attack, and then counter with her basic ability ''Heart Aflame''. She can have up to 20 stacks.
** Rainbow Seed. When Anna takes a fatal hit, she consumes a stack of this buff to prevent herself from dying. She will also dispell all her debuffs, heal herself, and get a bonus turn. She can have up to 3 stacks.
* ''Heart Aflame'' deals damage to an enemy based on Anna's ATK, and ignores some of the enemy's DEF based on her SPD. This ability also deals True Damage, and Anna gains a certain amount of AP for every buff she has.
* ''Full Spectrum'' deals damage to an enemy based on Anna's ATK, and ignores some of the enemy's DEF based on her SPD. She steals all her target's buffs and gains 2 stacks of Rainbow Shield. If she has at least 5 stacks of Rainbow Shield after casting an ability, she follows up with ''Heart Aflame''. When ascended, she gets 5 stacks of Rainbow Shield at the start of a fight.
* ''Spring Returns'' grants C. DMG Up and Immunity to her whole team, and gives her 5 stacks of Rainbow Shield. Then, she deals damage to an enemy based on her ATK, and ignores some of the enemy's DEF based on her SPD. She gains a stack of Rainbow Seed at the start of a fight, and for every 5 hits that Rainbow Shield blocks, she gets another one.
----
* DeafComposer: She likes to paint, but she suffers from color blindness. She became friends with Norah when she found her singing beautiful and able to convey colors to Anna through songs.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: The color of her eyes is basically a large combination of several colors, which only ironically add to her color blindness.
* PosthumousCharacter: She died when the Cube Miracle descended right as her boat was about to arrive at the harbor. [[spoiler:Her spirit was somehow consumed into the Cube Miracle. If she's awake, so is the cube, which will go on to cause more destruction.]] However, ''Bemusement Park'' added Anna to the playable roster, so whether or not she's truly dead is up in the air.
* PromotedToPlayable: She debuted as a major NPC in ''Sea and Song'' before ''Bemusement Park'' officially made her playable.
* VagueAge: [[spoiler:Her profile lists her age as ??? due to becoming a spirit tied to the Cube Miracle.]]

!!!'''Voiced By:''' Logan Roush (English), Tetsuei Sumiya (Japanese), Kim Daeyoung (Korean)\\
'''Attribute:''' Shimmer\\
'''Role:''' Fighter\\

A former movie star who acquired his power from a tragedy that could have been prevented. He now seeks to avenge his father through traversing the realm of scheming. He is a fighter Esper who excels at dealing massive damage through multi-hit attacks through his unique ''Envious Moon'' buff.

* Ikki has a whole myriad of buffs and effects at his disposal. They are...
** Fickle Moon, which increases the AP of allies with Stealth, dispells enemy buffs, and reduces enemy AP. Those last two effects can't miss or be resisted.
** Lunatic, which grants ATK Up, C. DMG Up, and a Shield (with strength based on ATK) to Ikki. All enemies have their Max HP reduced, which can't miss or be resisted.
** Pale Fire Snatched, which deals damage to all enemies based on Ikki's ATK. It then randomly deals single-target damage multiple times, prioritizing whoever has given Ikki the most stacks of Waxing Moon.
** Sleep No More, which is consumed when Ikki takes a fatal hit. It stops him from dying, dispells all his debuffs, heals him, and grants him Invincibility. When Sleep No More is consumed, the ''Envious Moon'' effect ends.
* ''Sharp-Ground Knife'' damages an enemy multiple times based on Ikki's ATK, and damage gradually decreases with each hit. Ikki also has a chance to steal his target's buffs.
* ''Envious Moon'' is a passive ability that activates at the start of combat. While active, Ikki gains Stealth and is immune to petrification. Once per turn, when an enemy actively attacks or counterattacks, they take damage based on Ikki's ATK and give him a stack of Waxing Moon. When Ikki has four stacks of Waxing Moon, he casts Fickle Moon, at eight stacks he casts Lunatic, and at twelve stacks he casts Pale Fire Snatched and gains Sleep No More.
* ''Pale Fire'' dispells all debuffs from Ikki and deals damage to all enemies multiple times based on his ATK. If ''Envious Moon'' has ended, it reactivates. This ability's cooldown cannot be manipulated. When ascended, Ikki will recover some HP based on the damage he deals.
----
* DramaticIrony: [[spoiler:''Items of Fate'' reveal that Chu Yao is in league with Ren Xian, and Chu Yao is one of the Shadow Decree's four concilors, indirectly making him complicit of Ren Xian's assassination attempts on Ikki's father. This fact, however, doesn't get lost on Ikki once he's informed about Chu Yao's deception, which convinced him to desert the Shadow Decree in favor of working with his father in the pharmaceutic field.]]
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:During ''Items of Fate,'' Fumitsuki's plan to stop Ikki from doing something horrible to Ren Xian works because of her efforts to heal his father, because doing so would entirely remove his reason for revenge on Ren Xian. This earns Yu Ran's team Ikki's help, even though he's not entirely happy with the idea.]]
* ExoticEyeDesigns: His right eye has a striking purple sclera while his left eye is relatively normal. This is likely a reference to Tsukuyomi's birth in Japanese Mythology, where he was born after Izanagi cleansed his right eye of filth when he left the underworld.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:By the end of ''Items of Fate,'' he resigned from the Shadow Decree upon learning about Chu Yao's involvement that included the assassination attempt on Ikki's father, and he's now happily working with his father in pharmaceutics.]]
* ItsPersonal: [[spoiler:He has a vendetta against Ren Xian; the one responsible who ordered the assassination attempt on his father.]]
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Making Fumitsuki living bait to lure out assassins and forcing her to live in the shadows for days doesn't get him more than a scolding from her that he brushes off with a teasing laugh when everything ends well for both parties. He ends up with his happy ending now that his father recovered and is working in pharmaceutics.]]
* {{Revenge}}: [[spoiler:His main motivation to enact it on Ren Xian for trying to assassinate his father.]]
* LightIsNotGood: His color palette is almost entirely white, but he sides with the villainous Shadow Decree. [[spoiler:Becomes LightIsGood at the end of ''Items of Fate,'' when he learns about Chu Yao's involvement.]]
* {{Lunacy}}: Being the esper of the moon god Tsukuyomi, his whole aesthetic revolves around the moon.
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler:He manipulates Fumitsuki as living bait to draw out the assassins that tried to kill his father. He states that he doesn't want to do justice, but he does his own things for vengeance.]]
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: [[spoiler:He works alongside Yu Ran's team in ''Items of Fate'' since his father Yuki recovered from his condition thanks to Fumitsuki aiding Fu Shi with his medicine, though it's noted that not even his father's wishes for Ikki to help the team convinced Ikki to be happy about the alliance.]]
