Glen Croll Named Principal of Downing Middle School

Lewisville ISD announces appointment of Glen Croll as the new principal of Downing Middle School.

Lewisville ISD announced the appointment of Glen Croll as the new principal of Downing Middle School. Croll currently serves as an assistant principal at Hebron High School.

“I am honored to continue to serve in this great district as the new principal at Downing,” Croll said. “I look forward to continuing to build a love for learning for the students in this wonderful community.”

Croll is entering his 30th year in education, and 16th in LISD. In 1994 he began teaching technology and manufacturing courses at the secondary level in North Carolina for four years before joining LISD at McKamy Middle School. He taught Industrial Technology for six years before moving to Lufkin where he taught Science for 10 years in Lufkin ISD. He returned to LISD teaching Science at Lamar Middle School in 2014 before becoming an Assistant Principal at Killian Middle School in 2015. In 2019 Croll moved to Hebron High School to serve as an Assistant Principal, and has been there since. 

Croll was named the 1998 Lincoln County School of Technology Teacher of the Year, the 2003 McKamy Middle School Teacher of the Year, and was nominated as LISD’s 2017 Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year. 

“Mr. Croll is a proven leader and committed to supporting collaborative and innovative learning experiences for students and staff,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp said. “I have no doubt Downing will continue its record of high achievement with Mr. Croll as principal.”

Croll received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Appalachian State University and his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University.
