help!!!!! choosing college

Question!

ima get doxxed from this but idc.

Hello, I am having a lot of trouble evaluating what my best options are for college. I have been accepted to UC Berkeley as an Environmental Economics and Policy Major, and could double major in art if the program seems right for me. I have an offer to do work study at the Berkeley Potters Studio through a friend of a friends of my grandma, and am planning on applying for a job at the student recreational art center as a studio assistant.

However, I've been doing pottery since I was five and I'm very good. I have won a handful of good awards, including the Val Cushing full tuition scholarship to Alfred University this year, through the k-12 ceramics exhibition. Alfred has been a bit of a dream for me since 8th grade, but even with my scholarship, they're asking a good 19k from me, without the option to double major, as my scholarship only covers four years with a regular amount of units. VS Berkeley is 13k, and I'd save thousands on transportation each year as it's only 5h from home, vs Alfred taking multiple flights and layovers and a shuttle (did a summer program, pain in the ass to get there from California).

Berkeley feels like the more practical option- I'd have this major to fall back on if art doesn't work out, and I'd be able to get a lot of connections in the art scene in San Francisco if I manage my time right. However, the prospects for double majoring don't seem great, as the art student studio isn't even set up for pottery, just sculpture, when wheel throwing is my main thing. And IK I'd have to put up with some bullshit at Alfred what with foundations n some of the other less focused stuff I'd need for a BFA. But I wonder if Berkeley will just be a waste of time and stress, because I feel as though I'd really struggle to choose academics over art when it comes to jobs. I am genuinely interested in my major though, and it just feels so much less risky than Alfred though...

Any opinions are appreciated. I have to get everything finalized for Berkekely by the 15th. I'm really heavily leaning towards there, but am wondering if any other folks who chose academics over art or visa versa might want to weigh in on how their decisions panned out.
