The following contains spoilers for Boy Kills World, now playing in theaters.

Boy Kills World is a movie for fans of Atomic Blonde and other similar action movies. The film focuses on Boy (Bill Skarsgård), a deaf mute man who is on a revenge quest after the elites murdered his family. He's trained by the mighty Shaman to achieve this goal.

The events of Boy Kills World also throw a few curveballs Boy's way. He thus has to adapt and improvise because he's going up against an army. Still, Boy finds friends, digs deep, and turns it into a bloody war. With that in mind, here are the best fights in the movie.

10 Boy Endures a Terrifying Training Regimen With Shaman

Boy trains with the Shaman

Boy is found after being discarded and tortured by the elites. The Shaman raises him. He nurses him back to health a la Batman Begins. They practice all sorts of martial arts together over the years.

Unlike training scenes from Dev Patel's Monkey Man, Shaman pushes Boy to the limit. It leads to a series of MMA fights that are dynamic, unforgiving and bloody. The movie has a time-lapse that goes from a young Boy being beaten, to the older, final version. It's very brutal, reminding Boy it's life or death out there.

Once Boy thinks he's ready, he attacks a warehouse to find a way to get to the elites. He ends up battling an entire legion. He uses guns, factory tools, blades, parkour and other forms of machinery around him. It's very much for fans of John Wick.

Some of the enemies also use unique chemical inhalers, making them super-soldiers impervious to blows and cuts. Boy is left with no choice but to mangle and maul them. This brings out his primal side -- something Basho decides to weaponize for the small rebellion that exists.

8 Basho Squashes Glen to Mulch

Glen holds a gun in Boy Kills World

At the warehouse, Basho and Boy beat up Glen Van Der Koy to get to his wife, Melanie. They want a way into the mansion. But as the mini-torture session occurs, Basho drops a piece of equipment, instantly squashing Glen's head.

It's a very brief fight that ruins Boy's plan. But it does create a shocking moment. One that highlights Boy Kills World will be unpredictable, and that not every bout will be long.

7 Boy Makes Melanie Pay in Gory Fashion

Melanie smiles in Boy Kills World

Boy eventually gets a chance to attack Melanie at her studio show. She has a play showing how she kills marginalized people, all to send a message to the masses. She even guns down Boy's allies. Boy, however, finds a way to sneak up to her and land some blows.

Boy quickly ties up Melanie and slams a camera into her head, killing her. Boy proves to be efficient, using the very tool she deployed to brainwash the citizens and gaslight them into thinking the wealthy cared about them.

Audiences want more realistic and dynamic action sequences, and Bill Skarsgard is here to deliver in Boy Kills World.

Melanie's studio show (sponsored by Frozen Puff cereal) was interrupted when Boy, Basho and Benny attacked. They use mechanical knuckles, guns, blades, bombs and set fire to the set. They also murder a lot of men with some brutal kills that can pass for Mortal Kombat Fatalities.

To top it off, the movie adopts some slow-motion scenes that Zack Snyder fans would be proud of. Seeing three men slaughter so many villains nods to underdog movies such as Mr. Nobody and Violent Night as well. The villains do get an equalizer when Melanie shoots Benny dead -- which riles Boy to hunt her down and dole out the aforementioned capital punishment.

5 Boy Gets a Horrific Corridor Brawl

Boy raises his fist as he trains with the Shaman in Boy Kills World

The hallway and corridor fights have been used more by Marvel shows, but Boy gets one of his own after dragging Bashi into a corridor. Sadly, Basho is bleeding out from Melanie's bullets. But he backs his friend up, using a blade and guns to skewer opponents.

Boy does the same, showing his kung-fu skills in a confined space. This is another fluid fight, with tight camera angles and a shaky essence that makes viewers feel like they're in the action. It's a well-shot POV, but sadly, after Boy clears the path, he sees Basho dead in the crimson pool behind him.

4 Boy Gets Swift Revenge on Gideon

Boy Kills World's Boy wears a red jacket as he fights enemies

Gideon is Melanie's brother. He helped Boy escape earlier, as he was tired of the elites playing games and oppressing the poor. His enraged sister shot him in the back and left him for dead.

Boy finds a wounded Gideon, gets a key pass to head to the elites' loft and to finish the job. He invites Gideon for a fight to finish their beef, but Gideon is too tired to make it lengthy. Boy grows frustrated and beheads him with a sword. Boy simply won't spare a single soul after losing his family and friends.

Sam Raimi's Boy Kills World Was Too 'Outrageous' for Investors
Exclusive: Producer Sam Raimi addresses the challenges Boy Kills World had with getting funding due to its content.

When Boy Kills World's ending brings Boy eye-to-eye with Melanie's older sister Hilda, she confesses she's his mother. The Shaman brainwashed and fed him lies. The man weaponized Boy to kill his kin in the mansion. Boy doesn't want to join the elites, however.

It leads to his sister, June 27, battering him. She has that Street Fighter energy to her, which is why she was the head of security. However, when Hilda urges her daughter to kill Boy, June flips the script, stabs her in the head, and flees with her brother. It's a graphic scene, but June has finally emancipated her mind.

2 June 27 and Boy Battle the Explosive Guards

A bloodied Boy and June walk together in Boy Kills World

As Boy Kills World's June and Boy try to escape the high-rise, they face a legion. The guards have shields, chain guns, bombs, batons, etc. The siblings shield themselves, use their martial arts and then garner weapons to use on the enemies.

They end up getting shot and cut too, affirming this isn't an idealistic film. It throws back to The Matrix and Equilibrium, shaping the siblings as Chosen Ones meant to burn the system down permanently. This is one of the most incendiary, explosive and gory scenes in recent years in the action genre.

1 June 27 and Boy Almost Die Fighting the Shaman

Boy Kills World's Shaman is the final boss the siblings must face in the basement of the mansion. Hilda forced a young Boy to murder the man's family, so this is the culmination of the rivalry. The Shaman mixes up his martial art styles, while using beads, necklaces and nails to cut the siblings up. He's very much like an anime villain.

Shaman's technique is quick, he keeps switching stances, and his attitude is dogged. He stabs June and leaves her bleeding out. However, Boy later gets the upper hand, strangles and kills his enemy, using his lengthy arms, grappling, strength and wrestling as trump cards. Thankfully, the siblings live, but barely so. The Shaman crushed many of their bones, leaving them grateful they can walk out alive and finish their reunion story.
