CB Mashup

This route may have areas that require advanced techniques, no first-time scramblers. Experienced beginners, ok.

***Bringing at least two liters of water, having full use of both hands & feet and wearing the appropriate footwear are requirements to join this and any other hike I post. ***

Helmets are always welcome. Be sure to use one that doesn't block your sight. Due to the recent soaking rain, our route will be lots of cardio and solid rock ascents/descents, avoiding ledges and potentially crumbly areas.

Always carry "in case of emergency" numbers with you.

There will be some exposure, with some cracks to go through and plenty of cardio. This will require intermediate scrambling skills and some flexibility as we mix it up.

Not for beginners or those afraid of heights. There are several places that require intermediate scrambling skills and there is some exposure. You must be able to pull your body weight up and lower yourself down using your arms in several obstacles.

Send me a note through Meetup (click on my profile and then click "send a message") with details of your scrambling experience. Details means a description of the climbing you've done and the people you did it with. This is needed before I can put you on the "going" list.

This hike (CB Mashup) is considered a Class 3 as it requires the use of hand and footholds to climb the rocks. Expect some exposure. Be aware that the route is different each time it's posted.

When hitting the final descent we have many options. Be prepared to use your arms and sticky-soled boots as we climb up and down the cracks, there will be a least one.

You must indicate that you read the entire hike description by answering the question asked when signing up for the hike. We leave the trailhead at the posted hike time, so please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Cancellations within an hour of the start time will be marked as a no-show.

No guests will be allowed. All attendees must be members of VegasHikers. It takes only a few minutes to complete a profile and it's FREE!

YOU MUST BE ON THE "GOING" LIST IN ORDER TO GO ON THIS HIKE. CRASHING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

We'll park at Red Springs Picnic Area. Please arrive early as we leave at the hike's posted start time. To get there go west on Charleston towards the park. The turn to Calico basin is about 2 miles before the park entrance.
