Junior and three crew members died after their boat capsized in the Niger River in Anambra State on their route to Asaba, Nigeria, to shoot a movie. Following the release of a video of him on the boat on the internet, and people in Anambra attempting to revive him and get him to the hospital, the Actors Guild of Nigeria pronounced him alive. He was later officially proclaimed dead.
