MANILA, Philippines — Four people, including two volunteers, were injured in a fire that razed a residential area in Parañaque on Friday night.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at around 10:41 p.m. on Friday and reached fifth alarm an hour later.

The blaze was extinguished at 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

A 24-year-old woman sustained a cut in her right middle finger while a 19-year-old man suffered first-degree burns on his back.

A 19-year-old volunteer sustained an abrasion on his left thumb while the other volunteer, 28, had a puncture wound in his left foot.

The BFP said a total of 23 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the scene of the fire.

Arson probers are still investigating the cause of the fire, which destroyed 70 houses and left around 130 families homeless.
