    An immaculate transfer.

    This film is a landmark in development of special effects, using a combination of ingenious optical and mechanical techniques, with superlative results obtained long before the advent of computer technology. The story of the giant ape terrorizing New York City and ending upon the spire of the Empire State Building is well known to most people, with the ape’s “personality” enhanced by his fondness for his young lady, played by Fay Wray. The sound effects wizardry also deserves commendation, as does the amazing musical score. A film not to be missed! The Blu Ray transfer is immaculate and does full justice to the source material. Highly recommended. The disc is discontinued, so please be prepared to pay a premium price for it.

    Great extras on the blue ray

    It's the extras that make this blu-ray. The B&W transfer is ok it's not like the remastered 1933 DRACULA.
