Chicago Fire will look different when it opens Season 13 this fall. Several cast members are leaving the show, and things appear to be in for a shakeup at the station. Eamonn Walker (Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden) is leaving the show as a full-time cast member. Now, another beloved character might also exit the series.

Here is who else might be leaving and what might be next for Chicago Fire.

Chicago Fire Losing Beloved Veteran Firefighter?

One of the original Chicago Fire firefighters has been missing for a few episodes now and many fans are asking if he is leaving the show. This is even more distressing since so many other characters are also departing after Season 12. On top of Walker leaving the main cast (he will stick around as a recurring character), three other characters are also departing.

Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett); Alberto Rosende (Blake Gallo); and Rome Flynn (Derrick Gibson) also left the series in Season 12. With that said, one beloved character has been missing for two weeks. Fans wonder if he is also leaving. This is Mouch, played by Christian Stolte.

There were rumors that Mouch was going to die after he was shot in a previous episode. However, Mouch survived the shooting and returned to the team. He had to process his traumatic experience and learn to adjust and deal with his near-death experience. It seemed like he had more stories to tell on the hit series.

However, with his absence in the last two episodes, and the fact he wasn’t in the preview video for the Season 12 finale, many fans wonder if he is finished on the show after all.

What Is Next For Chicago Fire?

Lieutenant Kelly Severide explained in Episode 10 that Mouch was in Atlanta taking a tech rescue class. He has been gone for that episode and the next one, and he wasn’t seen in the preview video for the season finale. However, it appears that Mouch is not leaving the show after all.

It has now been confirmed that Mouch will show up at the end of the season finale to say goodbye to Boden, as the chief steps down to campaign to be the Chicago Fire Department’s new Deputy Commissioner. On top of Boden leaving, the finale also has Mouch in the synopsis, saying that he “struggles to adjust to the new Truck.”

With Mouch not going anywhere anytime soon, fans can now turn their attention to Severide. There have been rumors that he was winding down his time on the show, and with his life in danger this week, some thought that would be it. However, for now, Severide is sticking around as well, and he might be up for a promotion with Boden leaving.

Are you glad that Mouch is sticking around on Chicago Fire? What are your thoughts on all the cast changes as Season 12 rolls to a close? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
