WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and WBO, IBF and WBA champion Oleksandr Usyk, will meet Saturday, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a chance to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era (noon ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view).
Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), 35, of Manchester, England, is coming off a lackluster performance against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a boxing match back in October. Fury edged a split-decision win, but was knocked down in Round 3 and looked to be in trouble throughout the fight.
Before that, Fury had scored stoppage victories, a sixth-round TKO of Dillian Whyte in April 2022 and a 10th-round TKO of Derek Chisora in December 2022.
Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), 37, of Crimea, Ukraine, is a former cruiserweight undisputed champion. He moved up to the heavyweight division in 2019 and has amassed five consecutive victories, including a unanimous decision against Anthony Joshua to capture the titles in 2021. He then defeated Joshua again in the rematch 11 months later to retain the belts.
Fury had been expected to face Usyk in February, but Fury suffered a bad cut over his right eye during a sparring session, forcing the fight to be postponed.
The last heavyweight undisputed champion in the three-belt era was Lennox Lewis in 2000.
