Help needed - Transposition function.(Gojira X)

Before y'all rip me a new one, I'm far from a pro guitar player. I just like to play and have fun but for the life of me cannot pin what tuning is what with the transpose knob. Could some kind soul drop me a list from 0st to 12st with each tuning accordingly. This would help me out grealty. Thank you!

it tunes relative to your guitar, with each number representing a semitone, not a specific tuning. so if you are in E standard, and choose let’s say -3, you have pitch shifted your guitar by 3 semitones down, which would put you in C# standard

So as someone else already said it transposes relative to the guitar. An easy way to see in which tuning you're gonna end up, is as follows:

  • Open the tuner

  • play the low E string on the twelfth fret. This should be an E, because if you're in E standard the scale starts again at the twelfth fret.

  • then play a fret down each time, which mimics the semitones you're going down on on the transpose button.

  • You know how many semitones you have to get down to to get to a certain tuning.

For instance: going from the twelfth to the seventh fret is 5 semitones, which means you will be in B standard (considering you're in E standard from the start)

If you want to see at a glance and save yourself a little bit of time not having to count semitones, run the plugin in a DAW and stick a tuner after it. You can see right away what your open low string is playing as you're adjusting the transpose knob by just checking the tuner display.

I tried this but it reads what the guitar itself is tuned in and not what position the transpose knob is in unfortunately.

Are you putting the tuner after the plugin in the track chain? It should detect the downtuned signal coming out of the plugin that way.

Oh, my bad dude. I misunderstood. I thought you meant the tuner on the plugin itself, not a separate one. Thank you for that idea tho! I will be trying this for sure

Now that you have a better understanding of the feature, isn’t it fucking sick?!?!? 💻🤘💻🤘

It really is, that function and the doubler was a great addition! Also having more artist's presets and even more of ones that were on the original Gojira.

NeuralDSP is a pretty chill community, the answers you get on here wouldn't be like the ones you'd get on the guitarlessons subreddit for example
