Mr. Ernest Poindexter of Nathalie, VA died Monday, May 13th at the age of 94.

 
Mr. Poindexter was born in Halifax County, VA on January 2, 1930, to the late Arthur Poindexter and Julia Poindexter. He was married to the late Louise Simmons Poindexter and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Poindexter is survived by (5) sons: Linwood Poindexter, William Poindexter (Brenda), James Poindexter (Linda), Ernest Poindexter and Ronald Poindexter; (4) daughters: Freda Reid (Marvin), Teresa Carrington (Aaron), Evelyn Thomas (Clarence), and his daughter, Linda Dunkley Garrett; (10) grandchildren; (3) great grandchildren; (3) step grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and (1) sister-in-law: Margaret Simmons. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by (1) granddaughter, LaKeisha Poindexter; (2) sisters: Anna Prince and Mary Bynes; and (2) brothers: Robert Poindexter and Alex Poindexter.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Poindexter will be on Thursday, May 16th at 1:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA with Rev. Finley Fields, eulogist. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The public viewing for family and friends will be on Wednesday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
