MOHAVE COUNTY – Following a nationwide search, Mohave Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joline Pruitt as the new Vice President of Administrative Services, effective July 1, 2024. Pruitt will succeed Jennie Dixon, a Kingman native and longtime MCC employee, who is retiring after years of dedicated service to the college.
As VP of Administrative Services, Pruitt will oversee several offices at the college including Business Services, Employee Services, Information Technology, Risk Management and Facilities Management. She brings to MCC more than 20 years of operations experience in finance, facilities, human resources, compliance and technology. She holds an AA in Business from Pasadena City College, a BS in Management from Pepperdine University, and an MBA with a concentration in Digital Innovation and Information Systems, also from Pepperdine University. Currently, she is pursuing an EdD in Leadership and Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University, Pruitt is deeply committed to the field of education and its transformative power.

In her most recent role as the Assistant Vice President of Business Operations and Institutional Chief Finance Officer at Saybrook University, a non-profit institution, Pruitt managed an annual operating budget of 22 million dollars. She has a proven track record of collaborating with boards, faculty, and staff to achieve surplus goals, lead successful change initiatives, and develop training and support strategies for enrollment growth. Pruitt’s leadership was also instrumental in chairing committees and contributing to various areas of institutional development.
Pruitt shared her excitement about joining MCC, saying, “I am thrilled to join Mohave Community College and contribute to its mission of providing accessible and quality education. As a first-generation and non-traditional college student myself, I deeply understand the importance of education and look forward to serving the students and communities in the MCC district.”
She was born and raised in Glendale, California and is an avid nature enthusiast, enjoying activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, birdwatching and entomology. She has family and friends in the Mohave Valley, Havasu and Prescott. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles with her two daughters, aged 15 and 20, and her life partner.
Pruitt begins her new position at MCC on July 1. Jennie Dixon plans to assist with the transition before joining her husband in retirement.

Questions and Answers with Joline:
1- Where were you born?
Glendale, California
2- Where did you grow up and go to high school?
I grew up in Glendale and attended high school in La Crescenta at Crescenta Valley High School, which is at the base of the Angeles National Forest.
3- Any hobbies/interests you care to share?
I enjoy playing board games and my collection is nearing 100 games. I love to hike, fish, and tent camp. My favorite places are Joshua Tree, Montaña de Oro, and Twin Lakes in eastern Sierra Nevada.
4- Do you have family in Mohave County or another part of Arizona?
We have family in Mohave Valley and Buckeye and friends in Ft. Mohave, Havasu and Prescott.
5- Have you been to this region before, and do you have any positive impressions you can share?
Arizona has always been a big part of my life. I spent many summers camping in Parker and wakeboarding in the Colorado River when I was young. The Petrified Forest is one of my favorite places because of the rainbow of colors, geologic formations, wildlife, fossils, and mysteries of early humans. We like to visit Arizona in August during monsoon season to experience the power of the rainstorms, with deep respect for the destruction and difficulty it can bring. More recently, I played a round of disc golf at Hualapai during our last trip and I was completely overwhelmed by it’s beauty. I am eager to spend more time getting to know the Hualapai Mountains.
6- Why did you choose MCC?
Having worked with and attended private non-profit higher education institutions, I am frustrated with the barrier high tuition costs create that prohibit people from accessing education or saddling them with student loan debt. I started my own academic journey at 25 with Pasadena City College and it took me 9 years to complete my associate’s degree while working multiple jobs, caring for a growing family, and managing life’s many challenges. Without community college, I would not have persued higher education. My personal experience and the impact education has had on my life motivated me to join a community college that creates an environment where people can thrive.Mohave Community College is doing exactly this by pivoting their efforts towards the growing needs of the Mohave Valley. I am impressed by the way MCC serves its students and focuses on community engagement and support with the launch of student housing, campus upgrades, new soccer team, and programs that offer relevant and realistic career paths with clear ROI. I’m proud and excited to join a team of dedicated passionate people that take pride in being part of MCC and living in the Mohave Valley. It is clear to me MCC has heart and I’m glad to now be part of it!
7- Do you like the heat?
Yes! I can’t speak for the rest of my family, but I am much more comfortable in the heat. I have a difficult time staying warm so don’t be surprised if you see me bundled up in gloves and layers in an air conditioned office. I also love all of the plants and animals that can be found in the desert. I have my fingers crossed in hopes of seeing a tarantula migration this fall!
