Eight people were killed in a bus crash Tuesday morning on a rural road in Central Florida.
At least 40 others were hospitalized, Florida Highway Patrol said.
LT. Patrick Riordan, a spokesperson with FHP, called it a "massive traffic homicide investigation."

Where did the crash happen
The crash happened on State Road 40 in Ocala just west of Southwest 140 Avenue.

FHP said the crash happened at 6:35 a.m.

What were the vehicles involved?
FHP said the crash involved a 2010 international school bus transporting approximately 53 migrant farm workers and a 2001 Ford Ranger truck. The pickup truck crossed into center of road, hitting bus.
Authorities said the bus was heading to Cannon Farms in Dunnellon in Marion County.
What happened?
FHP said the two vehicles "collided in a sideswiped manner," and the bus traveled off the roadway through a fence and then overturned.
The driver of the truck, Bryan Maclean Howard, was arrested on DUI manslaughter charges. FHP says he was traveling east on SR-40 and moved toward the center line, which caused his pickup to collide with the bus traveling west.

How many people were involved?
Eight people have been confirmed deceased and 45 others were transported to local medical facilities.
HCA Florida West Marion Hospital is taking patients from the crash and told WESH 2 that five were in the emergency room on Tuesday morning.
Road reopened
SR-40 was shut down in both directions, causing traffic diversions. However, the Florida Department of Transportation said the road has reopened to traffic.
'Massive traffic homicide investigation'
Riordan said it could take 6 months to complete investigation which will include an inspection of the bus.
Were there any arrests?
According to FHP, the truck driver, Bryan Maclean Howard, was arrested on DUI manslaughter charges.
