Post Malone Previews First Full-Length Country Album With ‘I Had Some Help’ Feat. Morgan Wallen

Musical phenomenon Post Malone has slowly been introducing himself to a whole new set of fans within the country music community and today, May 10, he celebrates this next chapter with the release of his highly anticipated single, “I Had Some Help” featuring country sensation Morgan Wallen. 

Throughout the genre-defying breakup anthem, the pair of artists deliver a fresh take on the saying “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Instead of taking the blame on the demise of a former relationship, Malone and Wallen push back and emphasize to the ex-partner in the situation that whatever happened between them was a fault of both parties. 

“You got alot of nerve don’t you baby/ I only hit the curb cuz you made me/ You’re tellin’ all your friends that I’m crazy/ Like I’m the only one/ Why’d you throw them stones if you/ Had a wild hair of your own or two/ Livin’ in your big glass house with a view/ I thought you knew,” Malone sings on the opening verse. 

Wallen steps in on the second verse, letting his East Tennessee twang blend with the 9x diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist’s gritty vocals throughout the remainder of the track. They continue to elevate the catchy tune by putting their post-breakup frustrations on full blast. 

“I had some help/ It ain’t like I can make this kind of mess all by myself/ Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle on the shelf/ Been deep in every weekend if you couldn’t tell/ They say team work makes the dream work/ Hell I had some help,” they sing on the chorus. 

An accompanying music video also dropped alongside the release, which finds Wallen and the Dallas, Texas native letting off a bit of steam at a local bar. 

Malone and Wallen both had a hand in penning the new track alongside Louis Bell, Ryan Vojtesak, Ashley Gorley, Ernest Keith Smith, Chandler Paul Walters, and Hoskins while Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome, and Hoskins produced. “I Had Some Help” is currently impacting country, pop, and hot AC radio stations.

Available via Mercury Records / REPUBLIC in partnership with Big Loud Records, “I Had Some Help” also offers a sneak peek into Malone’s first-ever full-length country album coming later this year. 

After teasing their collaboration on social media and raising excitment among both of their audiences, they finally premiered the song live in front of a sold-out crowd on Sunday, May 5. This highly-anticipated moment follows Malone’s first-ever Stagecoach set in Indio, CA, during which he performed alongside the “Last Night” singer as well as a slew of other superstar guests including Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and Dwight Yoakam.

Morgan Wallen is preparing to head into the 59^th Academy of Country Music Awards as a six-time nominee while Post Malone will make his performance debut on the stage of the coveted awards show on Thursday, May 16.
