[Eejanaika] and my first time at [Fuji-Q Highland]

Trip Report

Had my first visit to Fuji Q today! Midweek just after Golden Week seems to be the perfect time to visit, the rides didn't open until 11 as there was 'rain' but once everything opened, everything was close to walk on!

Eejanaika rides very similarly to to X2 from memory. It is just wild. The back right side (row 5) was smoother than row 3 on the left hand side.

Fuji-Q has to be the most safety conscious park I have ever visited. Got told off for having a receipt in my pocket and not having my hands on the restraints while sat in the station. Absolutely worth a visit.

The scare maze is like £20, but does a great job. I do have a feeling theres normally more actors but Thursday off Peak we only saw three.

I’ll be going for my time on Monday and I’m so excited. Other than the coasters, are there any must rides? I’m only spending a half day, would you recommend a front of the line pass?

For a half day, buy all the passes just so you’re guaranteed rides. The raft ride was very fun and wet. The SkyRoller tower was intense, I got 78 flips.

Sadly I think they closed the single rider line for Eej that allowed us to get tons of rides.

78 flips

Damn, I hit 49 and was quite dizzy by the end of the ride.

I was a second away from passing out / losing vision lol. The winds that particularly day were super strong.

Is it possible to get the passes beforehand? Have heard conflicting opinions

There are two systems, or there were in 2019 at least. Paper passes from inside the park, and online passes that require a Japanese credit card and Yahoo Japan account. “Zokyo” I think they were called.

Oddly the Zokyo tickets use a weird facial recognition system at each entrance. I think we paid like $15 for a Do-DoDonpa ticket.

They got rid of the Yahoo Japan account requirement last fall.

My Capital One (USA) credit card worked! However you need to either understand Japanese or use a running translator.

Thanks for the advice! I’m definitely going to get a pass for the big rides because it’s supposed to rain the day I’m going.

What other parks and coasters are you hitting up on your trip?

There was no advantage for me to skip the line as they were so short, so judge it on what you see. Definitely worth the rapids but be warned its a soaker!

Eejanaika is what X2 would feel like if it were smoother with more inversions and the positive g’s of Batman:TR

As of a few months ago, I actually found Eejanaika and X2 about the same in terms of roughness, Eejanaika does way more with its elements though, every element is banger after banger.

Welcome to the Eejnakaika riders club, how does it feel to be better than everyone else? /uj

I sleep happy being a Brit with both Eejanaika and X2. I will be parading around Alton Towers in my Japanese Eejanaika t-shirt while no one around me knows they’re in the presence of coaster royalty 👑

I regret not doing this when I went to Japan a billion years ago but I was not “enthused” at the time.
