Stuart Cooper Young OBITUARY

Funeral services will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday for Stuart Cooper Young who passed away at Dominican Hospital Restorative Care Unit on May 25, 2007 at the age of 86. Born in Rochester, New York, Mr. Young has been a resident of Capitola for the past 11 years. He worked has a sheet metal technician with Litton Industries and with Lockheed Industries in their aerospace defense department. His career spanned over 25 years.

His family will forever hold dearly many fond memories of Stuart coaching Little League Baseball for two generations. He loved to work with young people and personified strength coupled with kindness. He was a parishioner of Resurrection Catholic Church in Aptos. He also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He was an avid fan of both the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Anne Young of Capitola, daughter, Merilee of Capitola, and his sons, Michael and his wife, Cheryl of Leona Valley, California and Anthony and his wife ICY of La Selva Beach.. He also leaves six grandchildren, five nieces, three nephews, and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his mother Leota Cooper Young in 1930 and his father Percy Anthony Young in 1924.

Friends may pay their respects at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz on Tuesday May 29, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. A vigil service will be held Tuesday evening at the chapel beginning at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday May 30th, at Resurrection Catholic Church 7600 Soquel Drive Aptos, CA.
