Global phenomenon musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is hitting the Australian stage after huge acclaim and sold-out seasons in London and North America.
The Oliver Award-winning reimagined production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s celebrated musical will arrive here in November, at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre, where the original Australian production began in 1972. This will be the beginning of a national tour.
Auditions for the cast are set to begin shortly.
‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ features music and lyrics from Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. It was reimagined by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, where it originated, and is helmed by Director Timothy Sheader and Choreographer Drew McOnie.

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events, taking place across the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ and seen through the eyes of Judas. The legendary score includes ‘I Don’t Know How To Love Him’, ‘Gethsemane’, and ‘Superstar’.
