Milwaukee police said two teenagers were killed after a shooting on Milwaukee's south side late Saturday night.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said the victims were 15-year-old boys.
Family members have identified one of the 15-year-olds at Alejandro Sanchez.
"Its so unexpected, and especially since its so cruel. Its such a cruel thing to happen to my brother. A little boy," said Dalilah Sanchez, his older sister. "He liked doing a lot of stuff with his friends. He was a good person and he always looked out for people too."
The Sanchez family has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
The other boy has also been identified by his family as Monroe Weso.
A GoFundMe campaign to help with Weso's funeral expenses was created by a family member.
Police said the shooting happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday near South 14th Street and West Halsey Avenue. One victim died at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
A neighbor in the area told WISN 12 News there was a group of people outside drinking moments before gunfire erupted.
"Pom, pom, pom three times they shoot, three times they shoot," neighbor Akhbar Yaakob-Kahn said.
Yaakob-Kahn described the shooter as a man in a red sweatshirt who ran on foot from the scene.
Another neighbor said she heard yelling, and saw six or seven people in hooded sweatshirts run from the scene.
"They were so young, and they had so much life ahead of them. And I'm really sad that these things keep happening in our community," said Grey McEachern, who witnessed the aftermath.
"I just want to find the person that did it," Sanchez said. "Especially, I don't want this to happen to other peoples' children and other peoples' lives. This violence - it needs to stop."
