Report: Bayern Munich monitoring yet another Spurs player ahead of summer window

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal is attracting interest from a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Sun’s Tom Barclay.

The report claims that Bayern Munich are monitoring the Brazilian’s situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while AC Milan are also keen on his services.

The strongest interest has come from Al-Nassr with the Saudi Arabian club prepared to make another attempt to land the right-back having failed with their efforts in January which saw them table a £20million offer.

Royal has seen his playing time limited this season having dropped down in the pecking order in the Tottenham first-team squad with Ange Postecoglou preferring Pedro Porro as his first choice on the right side of defence.

He recently filled in for the injured duo of Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies at left-back but struggled on occasion which instead saw Postecoglou try Oliver Skipp and Micky van de Ven as makeshift options.

Bayern Munich are interested in Emerson Royal

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this month that the Brazilian international could be one of the first departures this summer as early as next month (GiveMeSport:.

Barclay, who is The Sun’s senior football writer took to social media platform X to write: “Understand Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi side Al-Nassr are ready to go back in for Emerson Royal this summer, after bid rejected in Jan. AC Milan also keen, while I’m told Bayern are monitoring his situation”

Royal has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season, scoring one goal, which was the club’s second of the Premier League season in the 2-2 draw at Brentford back in August (transfermarkt).

Tottenham bring the curtain down on their 23/24 top flight campaign tomorrow with a trip to Sheffield United where they can secure a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League and a fifth-place finish.

SpursWeb Opinion

Bayern Munich and Tottenham have had quite the dialogue in recent times having negotiated the transfer which took Harry Kane to the Bundesliga giants last summer and also followed up in the January window with a loan deal for Eric Dier.

Emerson Royal showed good strength of character to improve from his poor form at the start of his Tottenham career, however, he just is not at the level which Postecoglou demands from his full-backs, especially in attacking areas.
