All About Rebel Wilson's Daughter, Royce Lillian

Rebel Wilson is a mom!

The Pitch Perfect alum welcomed a baby girl on Nov. 7, 2022, via surrogate.

"I can't even describe the love I have for her, she's a beautiful miracle!" the actress, who is engaged to fashion and jewelry designer Ramona Agruma, wrote on Instagram.

The happy news came after Wilson opened up to PEOPLE in May 2022 about her journey to motherhood, which began when she visited a fertility doctor in 2019.

"He looked me up and down and said, 'You'd do much better if you were healthier,' " she told PEOPLE. "I was taken aback. I thought, 'Oh God, this guy's so rude.' He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It's almost like I didn't think of my own needs. I thought of a future child's needs; that really inspired me to get healthier."

​​The actress, who also has polycystic ovary syndrome (which can also affect fertility), embarked on a "year of health" in 2020 and eventually lost more than 80 lbs.

Wilson, Agruma and Royce are currently living in Australia, where the actress is directing a musical comedy titled The Deb.

In August 2023, Wilson told PEOPLE that the best part of her day is coming home to her daughter.

"I throw Royce up in the air until she giggles, I tickle her and I help put her to bed. She just melts my heart," she said.

Royce's name has special meaning

Wilson told PEOPLE that her daughter's full name is Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, explaining the meaning behind each of her names. "I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one," she shared. "Lillian and Elizabeth are both family names carried by women in my family who I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen."

In her Instagram post, she also teased her sweet nickname for her newborn, writing, "I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club. 💗💗💗."

She was born via surrogate

In her birth announcement, Wilson also revealed that Royce was born via surrogate. Though she didn't share additional details, she did give the surrogate a heartfelt shout-out, writing, "Thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it's an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!"

Agruma threw Wilson a baby shower

Shortly after sharing that she welcomed her first child, Wilson revealed to PEOPLE that Agruma planned her baby shower with a group of close friends, and she "went above and beyond to make it a special day."

"It was the most gorgeous baby shower with friends from around the world," Wilson added, while praising Agruma for being "so amazing and such a great partner."

Her birth was "years in the making"

In her cover story with PEOPLE, Wilson revealed that she had been working with fertility doctors since 2019. "I would love to have a family. I'm just going for it by myself at the moment because of the biological clock," she said at the time. "If I meet the right person, great, and then they can fit in with whatever happens."

In her Instagram post from November 2022, Wilson added that Royce's birth "has been years in the making" as she thanked her loved ones for their support.

That same month, Wilson spoke to PEOPLE about her fertility struggles during production of The Almond and the Seahorse, in which she plays a woman who wants to become a mother. "During the filming I received some terrible news that all my harvested eggs up until that point had not survived being thawed," the actress shared.

"So I'd lost a huge amount of weight and been through 3 surgeries at that point and no viable embryos," she continued. "It was devastating."

Even so, she explained, "I knew that my desire to become a mother was so strong, that I needed to keep trying."

Agruma is helping Wilson raise Royce

The fashion designer is just as committed to raising baby Royce as her actress counterpart.

In November 2022, Agruma opened up about motherhood during an interview on The Morning Show.

"You start thinking about someone else instead of yourself, priorities change," she told the hosts. "It's been amazing, it's truly life-changing, but in a good way."

On Mother's Day 2023, Wilson shared a photo of herself, Agruma and Royce sitting together. In the snap, Agruma confirmed her role in Royce's life by wearing a pink hat that read "MAMA."

A year later, it seemed that Agruma may have helped Royce create a special gift for Wilson in honor of Mother's Day 2024. She shared a photo on her Instagram Stories that showed a picture of her daughter in a frame that Royce seemed to have painted and decorated with glitter and butterfly stickers.

Wilson and Agruma threw her a first birthday party

Wilson and Agruma celebrated Royce's first birthday with a small, mermaid-themed soiree. The celebration included a bouquet of pink balloons and a birthday cake decorated with mermaid tails, starfish and seashells.
