BAREGEYA”S DREAMS : 2040-2060 or transform Tanganyika into a wine lake – welcome to the submerged country

Members of the central committee of the CNDD-FDD met in the province of Ngozi (northern Burundi), to see how to launch the vision : Burundi, emerging country in 2040 and developed country in 2060. Baregeya who sees a country submerged, in prey to disasters, dreams of a Burundi, whose evils are transformed into blessings. Baregeya believed he had the monopoly on dreaming, but the tenors of the eagle party outsmart him, by dreaming in word, in deeds, in thought, by action and not by omission and above all by knowingly sinning.

Opinion by Mahoro (SOS Médias Burundi)

Welcome to the Promised Land. Finally ! Emerging country, more than developed. Hey! Yes. Welcome to the country immersed in a wine lake, an underwater country. From its rivers, beer flows freely. Mountains are bursting because the minerals are shaking our earth. Collapse ? No. It is the smile of the earth whose “wombs are blessed” to give birth to rare earth, coltan, nickel, gold, diamond, etc.

And these people I see? They cry. They run, they shout, their hands in the air. Sometimes with mats and tattered clothes on their heads, dragging the small livestock. These people are crying with joy, their hands in the air to thank the leader (Neva) at the highest summit of the paradise country, we are going to get rid of these scraps and then gorge themselves on the good meat from the livestock on a leash. No mountain can stand anymore. The ores revolt until they flow into the open air. Never seen. No other nation in the world is blessed like this, nor will it be.

Bathers in the lake? Yes of course. We swim in a wine lake, beer pools and milk jacuzzis. The lake which once revolted to the point of causing harm to the population, its water has been transformed into wine. We’re taking it easy, more than ever. The leaders of the most beautiful country in the world are patting themselves on the chest, because all eyes in the world are on us. Multinational breweries and soft drinks like Heineken and Coca-Cola come to bow down here. It is neither day nor night. It’s paradise, no need for electricity.

How not to dream?

Burundi is placed in a state of emergency, due to disasters here and there. Look : Lake Tanganyika is causing damage, displacing thousands of people. In Gatumba, tens of thousands of people must evacuate the main area of the district of Mutimbuzi, bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo. As if this were not enough, hundreds of thousands of the population of the provinces of Bujumbura (Rural) and Rumonge (southwest) may lack habitable space due to natural disasters : “rotational landslides”, according to an expert in environment and in disaster management. Mountains have cracks in different places.
In these conditions, to name just a few, the population is in unspeakable poverty. Famine, illnesses, school dropouts, evils of all kinds befell the country, a country which was already at the bottom of the abyss. Here I would not waste my time talking about unemployment, the quality of education, health care, the state of infrastructure. Did I mention fuel? Sugar ? In short, everything is chaotic. Except nothing.

These “leaders” really!!!

Baregeya’s dream is more than justified. If all those who decide for the nation come together, it is to see the state of affairs and determine what must be done in absolute urgency. In any case, it is unthinkable that even a bunch of mentally retarded people would get together to talk about emerging and developed countries, when everything is about to collapse.
If Baregeya dreams of Lake Tanganyika transformed into a wine vat, it is because the “leaders” meet to talk about development, while there is an overabundance of this water which invades the inhabited areas around it, putting hundreds of thousands of Burundians in disarray.

How can we not dream when all these people have spent two days in front of a president who will rant, vociferate, threaten, meaningless speeches which always end with cheers which do not come from the bottom of the heart. Those who cheer are tied up. They are afraid of the eagle’s claws, no one trusts anyone. Here they are in shiny, state-of-the-art cars, leaving tons of food at home, bank notes hoarded in houses worthy of “petrodollarers”. Thus, their shame is transformed into honor. They are full. Their brain without much intellectual coefficient, in a body whose fat compresses heart and brain to the point of no longer thinking, blinded by the worst crimes that even the devil himself would not dare to commit.

Thus, Baregeya’s dream was only a nightmare, the main actors of which were these “omnipotent” leaders who will leave the room having promised, as always, to change the reality of the country. Nope.

Dear true Burundians, it is not out of rudeness that I say this. I’m just overwhelmed. Behind all these plans for emergence and development lies that of…stealing the elections in order not to let go of the piece that fattens them so much. But if I were them, I wouldn’t dare do it anymore, because you have been warned more than once, and perhaps you are no longer ready to be fooled.
