  • Check out the first trailer for Megalopolis :

Megalopolis is a long-running project of Coppola’s, having begun writing it in 1983 and spending largely his own money. To finance this film with a budget of $120 million, the director sold part of his wine estate in California.

Despite the dizzying and spectacular images, this ambitious project does not have a distributor everywhere. In the States, it has not yet found a buyer, because it was considered too unusual by those to whom it was presented.

In France, where the film will be screened in competition at the 77th Film Festival on May 17, Megalopolis is distributed by Le Pacte. No release date has been communicated yet.
