A man was left fighting for his life after being struck by gunfire on the streets of Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The shooting occurred Sunday evening around 6:10 p.m. on the 6800 block of South Dante Avenue, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The victim, a 39-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

According to authorities, the man was outside when the shot rang out, critically injuring him. He had to be rushed immediately to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment. Currently, police have yet to place any suspect under custody in connection with the crime.
