High school boys lacrosse: Highland edges New Paltz 7-6

HIGHLAND, N.Y. — Logan Davis and Trevor Coates scored three goals each to lead Highland High’s boys lacrosse team to a 7-6 Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) victory over New Paltz on Tuesday at the Highland Middle School.

The Huskies’ other goal was scored by Luke Weise, who led the team with four assists.

Landon Zehr had a big game in goal for Highland with 20 saves.

Highland won the game in the second overtime.

The host Huskies remained unbeaten in the MHAL (5-0) and improved to 11-1 overall.

New Paltz (4-1 MHAL, 6-5 overall) got two goals each from Oscar Cline and Nico Horowitz. Alex Adonian and Jack Powers each had a goal for the Huguenots.

Colin Curley made nine saves for New Paltz.
